After six long years of what is being referred to as the “drought”, Beyoncé returns with her new single ‘BREAK MY SOUL’ and announces her highly anticipated seventh studio album RENAISSANCE out July 29.
The uplifting and infectious ‘BREAK MY SOUL’ was co-written/produced by Beyoncé, The-Dream & Tricky Stewart (the same production team that gave us ‘Single Ladies’). It also features a cameo from the New Orleans bounce icon, Big Freedia, and is powered by a sample from a 90’s House classic, Robin S.’ ‘Show Me Love’.
After two years of living through these unprecedented times, there is a palpable feeling permeating the air, a collective feeling of jubilance, a renewed sense of freedom, joie de vivre. ‘BREAK MY SOUL’ is wondrous in its ability to encapsulate that feeling sonically. Freedom memorialized in a song that absolutely soars!
