Beyond the Valley has indisputably entrenched itself as Australia’s premier multi-day music festival, selling out an impressive 35,000 tickets and consistently attracting some of the biggest names in the global music scene. 

Speculation had been mounting about the identity of two secret set’s which had been advertised on the set times.

On 30th December a historical moment in dance music unfolded with the surprise sets being revealed as Dom Dolla, who has never missed a Beyond the Valley having now played at all eight BTVs, followed by another surprise DJ set on the Dance Dome by RÜFÜS DU SOL, who headlined the Valley Stage the previous evening.

For the first time in history, RÜFÜS DU SOL and Dom shared the stage together, playing Dom’s remix of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s huge track ‘Make It Happen’.

These two artists are two of Australia’s biggest exports in dance music, having solidified their global presence with unparalleled recognition.

Beyond The Valley has well and truly carved out its niche with the allure of secret sets and surprise appearances, becoming a hallmark experience that keeps festival-goers on their toes. Last year, Dom Dolla stunned the crowd by bringing out Nelly Furtado on stage.

This year’s edition of Beyond The Valley saw RÜFÜS DU SOL’s second surprise set taking place in Schmall Klub—a secret party accessible only through a hidden entrance. Schmall Klub also played host to impromptu performances by Kettama playing a b2b with DJ Heartstring. Meanwhile, the iconic Dr. Dans Stage was ablaze with surprise sets from What So Not, jamesjamesjames, and Flight Facilities.

Other stand out moments included Peggy Gou bringing in the New Year, as well as massive crowds on the Valley Stage for Central Cee, FERG, Flight Facilities, Channel Tres, G Flip and DMA’S.
