‘DAYDREAMS’
out nowIn a whirlwind of swirling psychedelia, warm fuzz, and undeniable Brit-pop charm Big Wheels’ latest single ‘Daydreams’ transports you to a place where time stands still, love reigns supreme and responsibilities fade into nothingness.
Meet Big Wheels, the electrifying Golden Rock duo originally from the sun-drenched shores of the Sunshine Coast, now making waves in Sydney, Australia, and soon to bring their infectious energy to you. Led by the spirited singer-songwriters Cass Ford and Lawson Doyle, their partnership, though seemingly improbable, is a testament to the unpredictable beauty of fate.
Cass’s upbringing, steeped in country music, where she spent her formative years aboard her parents’ tour bus, stands in contrast to Lawson’s background in the pulsating energy of rock & roll. Having previously toured Australia with acclaimed projects, Lawson brings a wealth of experience to the table.
Influenced by the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Oasis, Jefferson Airplane, and more modern artists such as Big Thief, and together, Cass and Lawson seamlessly blend their influences into Big Wheels’ sound, creating a fusion that transcends genres and captivates audiences with its raw authenticity and undeniable charm.
Their latest single ‘Daydreams’ creates a soundtrack that breathes hope into the mundane worries of the day-to-day and is a reminder that amidst the chaos, there is always room for imagination and wonder.
Packed with luscious vocals, shimmering electric guitars and spellbinding synths, the result is a track that sparkles with charm and infectious energy.
With a deft touch that balances sugar and spice, producer Michael Smith (RYP Recordings) adds a captivating layer of magic to the band’s unfolding soundscapes within ‘Daydreams’.
Smith, a seasoned producer and former touring musician, has shaped the sound of acclaimed acts like Wolf Alice and Anteros, earning regular radio play on BBC Radio and global streaming success. Renowned for his passion for artist development, Smith has garnered praise from tastemakers worldwide for his collaborative work, spanning from emerging talents to heritage acts like Elvis Costello and The Spencer Davis Group. His dedication to blending analogue and vintage equipment with modern digital tools has catapulted acts he’s worked with to stages at Reading, as well as live sessions at Radio X and Maida Vale Studios.
Having worked with Smith on their previous single ‘What Are You Waiting For’, lead singer Lawson Doyle says, “Smithy’s innate understanding of our vision as a band has really added depth and dimension to the music we’re putting out. We’re so excited to see where this goes.”
Over the past year, Big Wheels have surged into the spotlight, embarking on a month-long artist residency in the UK with Sofar Sounds and gracing numerous festival stages across Australia. Their rise to prominence has been further fueled by standout support slots for nationally renowned acts like San Cisco, Pacific Avenue, DICE and Rum Jungle. With the current catalogue receiving airplay on Australian radio station Triple J and gaining significant traction in the UK through BBC Music Introducing as well other influential programs, Big Wheels have solidified their status as emerging international sensations.
In anticipation of an open-ended return to London later this month to record their upcoming 6-track debut EP at Smith’s North London studio, Big Wheels will also be bringing their raw, electric live show to a string of venues across the UK. The arrival of the debut EP promises to be the most diverse creative showcase of the band yet, encompassing soulful ballads and all-out rock and roll bangers . Listeners can anticipate immersing themselves in a kaleidoscope of sun-drenched psychedelic rock as Big Wheel’s highly anticipated EP is slated for release in early September this year.
“‘Daydreams’ is a song that holds a special place in our hearts, as it captures the essence of our journey as a band and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. We couldn’t be more thrilled to return to the UK to work on our debut EP over the next couple months.” – Cass Ford

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
