After three long and arduous years, Blacken Open Air announces its return to the Dead Centre of Australia. Blacken will celebrate on Arrernte country, at Inteyerrkwe, Ross River Resort from 29 July – 1 August, 2022.
With national and international borders opening, organisers are confident the time is right to host the festival again. This will be the first Blacken Open Air festival since May 2019, when Blacken moved to it’s iconic new location.
All the details, including who’s playing, will be announced in the coming weeks. Organisers aim to bring back the postponed lineup, but where that can’t work, promise to find incredible replacements.The 2021 festival announced a lineup that caught the attention of the nation. Over 40 bands will be performing across 3 nights.

Blacken Open Air is run by The Black Wreath label, which recently celebrated ten years of heavy music in the Dead Centre of the country.
