Today marks the long-awaited re-release of 5x GRAMMY-nominated superstar Aaliyah’s third studio album, ΛΛLIYΛH. Also known as ‘The Red Album’, this last body of work is available across all streaming platforms via partnership with Blackground Records 2.0 and EMPIRE.
Following the anticipated re-release of One In A Million debuting at #10 on the Billboard 200 just last week, the last chapter from the late R&B songstress’ catalogue is now here with ΛΛLIYΛH available to fans everywhere. Upon its initial release, the self-titled album received critical acclaim and charted at number two on the Billboard 200. Including hit singles “Rock The Boat” and “More Than a Woman”, the 2x RIAA Multi-Platinum album established a blueprint for R&B artists today, receiving GRAMMY-nominations for Best R&B Album and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for “Rock the Boat” and “More Than a Woman”, and reaching more than 13 million copies sold worldwide.

Released during a blossoming time in the R&B genre, ΛΛLIYΛH has since been cited by critics as one of the genre’s best and most influential records from this era. In 2005, the project ranked 66th on GQ’s “100 Coolest Albums in the World” then a few years later, it was named one of VIBE’s “150 Essential Albums of the Vibe Era.” Most recently, NPR listed the album as one of their ‘150 Greatest Albums Made By Women’.
Today’s unveiling follows a slew of re-releases over the past month from Blackground Records’ seminal roster, kicking off in August with Aaliyah’s One In A Million, and soon followed by early works from the Timbaland and Magoo catalog arriving on streaming services worldwide, among them including Welcome To Our World, Indecent Proposal, Under Construction, Part II, and Tim’s Bio from Timbaland himself.

This month, Blackground Records 2.0 shared two legendary soundtracks, ‘Romeo Must Die‘ and ‘Exit Wounds‘, alongside Aaliyah’s iconic record “Are You That Somebody” which originally featured on the soundtrack for ‘Dr. Doolittle’. Released in the early 2000s, ‘Romeo Must Die’ marked Aaliyah’s acting debut in a major motion picture, and featured songs from the likes of DMX, Destiny’s Child, Timbaland and Magoo, and Aaliyah herself, with her breakout single and the film’s theme song “Try Again” becoming the first single in Billboard chart history to reach #1 on the Hot 100 based solely off radio airplay. Furthermore, the ‘Exit Wounds’ soundtrack featured numerous records from DMX, Nas, Ja Rule, Three Six Mafia, The L.O.X, Cash Money Millionaires and more.

AMNPLIFY – SW
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
