Acoustic singer-songwriter Blanco White, a Brit whose heart belongs in Southern Spain and the Andean mountains, has enchanted us once more with the release of his new album “On the Other Side”.

A prolific songwriter, White has released a series of Latin American-style folk tracks throughout 2019 and 2020: “On The Other Side”, “Papillon”, “Desert Days”, “Samara” and “Mano a Mano”. Each release has further revealed the talent, uniqueness, exoticism and poignance of Blanco White as a musician, and they have now culminated in a full-length album, titled “On The Other Side”.

Listen to “On The Other Side” here.

White’s ability to capture a high level of attention to detail in his lyricism is a reflection of the pure genius of his music, and has earned him coverage in Clash Magazine, Wonderland Magazine, The Independent and more, as well as 1.47 million listeners on Spotify alone.

Blanco White is the solo project of Londoner Josh Edwards, originating in 2014. After studying guitar in Cádiz (Spain), and later the Andean instrument the charango in Sucre (Bolivia), Edwards’ aim was to begin bringing together elements of Andalusian and Latin American music alongside influences closer to home. The result is beyond exotic and otherworldly.

Releasing his self-produced debut EP “The Wind Rose” on Yucatan Records in early 2016, he later recorded his second EP “Colder Heavens” that same year with producer Ian Grimble (Bear’s Den, Matt Corby, Daughter), and released it last spring to critical delight. The Nocturne EP was released on the 29th September 2018. His 2017 single “El Búho” off “Colder Heavens” was premiered via Wonderland Magazine, describing his music style as “infused with exotic flair and experimentation”.

With every release Blanco White has gone up a gear, from the haunting acoustic sound of his first EP in 2016, to the meatier, more expansive recent singles. Already Josh is selling out venues across the world he couldn’t have dreamed of when he began Blanco White in 2014. His talent has now seen him become a streaming sensation and a staple of thousands of Spotify playlists, with fans all over the globe.

Following on from a mammoth 50 date US and European tour last Autumn – which saw him play a sold-out show at London’s EartHBlanco White will be returning to the live stage later in the year. More dates to be announced soon once we know when live music can return!
