UK indie rock outfit BLOXX have been making waves already this year with the release of three stellar singles, “Lie Out Loud”, “Thinking About Yourself” and “Off My Mind”, from their debut album Lie Out Loud. Now the band — consisting of frontwoman Fee, bassist Paul, guitarist Taz and drummer Mozwin — are ready to unleash their debut album onto the world.
“Our Debut Record – ‘Lie Out Loud’… Well how can I put it? It’s a journey from 2016 to 2020 for us as a band. The good bits, the really sh*t bits,” said lead singer Fee. “It’s a relatable voice for anyone who’s ever struggled with themselves or with relationships or with anything. We write with the intent to be relatable. It’s a voice for everyone. The album is sonically interesting and diverse and I think it’s my favourite thing we’ve ever done.”
The album’s first single, and title track, “Lie Out Loud” was premiered as a hottest record on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show in the UK. “Lie Out Loud” is boppy, fast-paced guitar banger, fusing grungy undertones with bright catchy melodies, the track finding a sonic home between Wolf Alice and The Wombats.

A guitar-driven pop track that sounds like it has been taken straight from an early-2000’s chick flick, their second single, “Thinking About Yourself”, also hit the spot with radio worldwide. “It’s a bit of a f*ck you song for everyone who’s ever really wound you up, and reminding them the world isn’t all about them,” said lead singer Fee.

The album’s third single, “Off My Mind” is a groovy melodic singalong that will be stuck in your head instantly, building into a huge stadium-esque chorus. Tastemakers around the world have been sitting up to take notice, with Annie Mac from the UK’s BBC Radio 1 giving the track her coveted ‘Hottest Record’ spot.

BLOXX formed in West London in 2016, with Uxbridge-raised Fee leading the charge alongside work mate Paul and college friends Taz and Moz. Searching for something more than just an ordinary existence, Fee studied music tech at university and honed her craft to seek out a career in music, in spite of a discouraging start in school.
“I was always into music, literally since I was five or six,” she said. “I went to Sixth Form to study [Music], but they dropped my course the day before I was supposed to start so I taught it myself, did the exam outside of school and got a really low grade. That was when I could have been like, ‘Hmmm, maybe music isn’t for me…,’ but I didn’t stop. I went to college, did a music course, got a great grade there and then went to Uni to study Music Tech.”
The band released their debut single “Your Boyfriend” the year of their formation and built on its success to release other tracks such as “Sea Blue” (which received support from Australia’s own triple j) and 2019’s Headspace EP. Since their conception, BLOXX have accumulated over 20 million streams and have supported seminal indie rockers The Wombats at O2 Academy Brixton, as well as Two Door Cinema Club, The Night Cafe and Sundara Karma. They have also appeared on the bill for the iconic Reading & Leeds festival twice.
This year, BLOXX are eager to continue their success with the release of their debut album Lie Out Loud. Working with prolific writers such as James Dring (Jamie T, Loyle Carner), Larry Hibbit (Nothing But Thieves) and Luke Fitton (Sundara Karma), the band is looking to branch out and eke out a more pop-based sound. The band have all but guaranteed their place in the mainstream indie rock scene.
“Lie Out Loud” is available to stream on all platforms now.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
