Today singer-songwriter and bass-playing superstar Blu DeTiger drops a fresh new take on her latest single ‘Vintage’. Reworked by arguably Australia’s favourite electronic duo, Flight Facilities, the ‘Vintage (Flight Facilities Remix)’ gives the single an even cooler and more nostalgic feel to the already super slick track.
Hugo and Jimmy from Flight Facilities explain why they jumped at the opportunity to add their own flavour to the track, “We’ve been busy in the studio, so we haven’t been remixing as often as we’d like to. When we heard Vintage, we had to try something. It reminded us a lot of the indie records we heard when we first started going out. We didn’t want to stray too much from the original song’s vibe, so we sprinkled just a little Flight Facilities on it.”
The original, ‘Vintage’, puts Blu DeTiger in the driver’s seat, reversing gender roles in traditional song narratives. “I sing about needing a ‘vintage boy’ – not to take me out on the town or to make me feel special – but to be an accessory to my sick outfit.” Blu explains. “Usually the perspective is from the guy, who has a girlfriend as his arm candy. In my version, the girl is still the main character. The song is meant to empower, along with highlight the characters that I often run into in New York City.”
Blu De Tiger released her Debut EP How Did We Get Here? Earlier this year which features lead singles ‘Figure It Out’ the viral hit that made NPR Music’s Top 40 Songs of the Year, ‘Cotton Candy Lemonade,’ and, most recent, ‘Vintage’, which made the covers of Spotify’s Lorem, Apple Music’s New Music Daily and Superbloom. The ‘Vintage’ video shows why she is a chic fashion darling with nostalgic stylized cuts between scenes of NYC life and Blu luring love interests to her in an alternate world. She has since accumulated over 35+M streams worldwide across Spotify and Apple.
Born and raised in New York City, Blu was a bass prodigy, playing since the age of seven. By 17, Blu had become a regular on the NYC music circuit, DJing at different clubs across the city and pulling out her bass to play in the middle of her sets. She’s become a fixture of next generation NYC and a favorite for fashion and brands collaborations. Her incredible musicianship has led to touring with Caroline Polachek and Fletcher, an enviable dedicated fan base of over 1+M followers on TikTok and an exclusive collaboration with Instagram Reels. Blu received early praise from media such as Paper, Interview, Billboard, MTV, Rolling Stone, Hypebae, and fans like Janet Jackson, Questlove, Flea, Timbaland, Normani and more.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
