Sunshine Coast based producer, Borderland State releases a dance floor ready, melodic house track ‘Rushing’, via October Records and Anjunabeats. The vocal led single is infused with ethereal soundscapes and swirling synth patterns. Borderland State contrasts a dark, deep bassline with high pitched arpeggiated leads and topping it off is a James Blake inspired topline.

Borderland State discusses how ‘Rushing’ came together, “‘Rushing’ was the first song I wrote just as we were going into lockdown last year. Originally it was a 6 minute long progressive journey and it stayed this way for a while. I then decided it would benefit from having a vocal element. Once I found the vocal, I knew I was on to something. The song then morphed into the punchy vocal driven track that is being released (as well as an extended version for those who like the journey).”

Borderland State caught the attention of Australian music industry after winning the 2018 triple j Unearthed remix competition with his remix of DMA’s tune, ‘The End’. His compelling electronic productions led him to release his debut single, ‘Collider’ on Kim Moye’s (The Presets) label –  Here To Hell which he quickly followed up with ‘Say It’, released via The Kite String Tangle’s label, Exist Recordings. Earning respect in the live music scene, the emerging talent has been invited to support a number of much-loved artists such as Crooked Colours, The Kite String Tangle, Cassian, MUTO, and Luke Million.

‘Rushing’ is out now via October Records and Ajunabeats.
