With their impending fourth studio album Suck On Light released world-wide next week (Fri. Sept 27th), Boy & Bear today reveal their brand new video for the album’s title track. The ‘Suck On Light’ video captures the band on Super 8 film taking us behind the scenes of their sold out Australian shows on their recent Hold Your Nerve Tour.
Currently touring North America, Boy & Bear have already performed to packed rooms in Philadelphia, Washington, Boston and the renowned Bowery Ballroom in New York City. Their 44-date Hold Your Nerve Tour continues throughout the USA and Canada then onto the UK and Europe finishing on Wednesday 26th February 2020 at Shepherds Bush Empire in London, UK.

The official video release comes a fortnight after Billboard’s premiered the ‘Suck On Light’visualizer clip and the track officially added to triple j and playlists across Apply and Spotify. As explained by lead singer Dave Hosking on an interview on Channel 10’s The Project, ‘Suck On Light’ is about hope.
Revealed in May, lead singer Hosking has been suffering a debilitating illness since the release of Boy & Bear’s double platinum selling and 5 x ARIA award-winning debut album Moonfire(2011).
“The song is about hope,” says Dave. “The moment I personally started to feel like I was on the improve, the moment things started to look up. The choruses always felt like a celebration of life and I think that sentiment carries across the song as a whole.’
Produced by Boy & Bear and Collin Dupuis (Lana Del Rey, The Black Keys) in Nashville’s Southern Ground studios, and mixed in part by Grammy Award-winning mix engineer Tom Elmhirst (Arcade Fire, Beck, Lorde, Amy Winehouse), the Suck On Light album will also include singles ‘Hold Your Nerve’ and ‘Work Of Art’. The 12-track album follows the release of their 2015’s ARIA-nominated and #1 ARIA Charting Album Limit Of Love and their 2013 platinum selling album Harlequin Dream which topped the ARIA Album chart and scored 3 ARIA nominations.
Boy & Bear will be appearing on ABC’s The Set on Wed Oct 9th on ABC1 at 9.30pm along with Marlon Williams and Montaigne.
