ARIA and Golden Guitar nominee Brad Cox has released his third studio album, Acres via Sony Music Entertainment Australia.
Speaking on the album, Brad says “It’s been a labor of love over a few years – a 17 track behemoth and it’s bloody good. Buckle in…”
Raised in Jindabyne, Brad Cox has always loved land. As a young buck, Brad cut his teeth spending many hours fencing, harvesting and working as a jack-of-all trades on properties across Australia to find inspiration for the songs he writes and sings – songs that resonate with a young generation of Australians in regional areas.
He now owns 100 Acres just past Rockhampton in Central Queensland and lives a sustainable life. He and his partner Sammy White (also a musician) spend their days tending to their cows, chickens, Pickles the goat and their dog Willie Cox.
When it came time for Brad to pick a title for the album, one stood out as the perfect pick. Acres is a fitting title for the album of a man who is so stoked with his life right now, living off the land with the love of his life.
The album features a mammoth 17 tracks that have been carefully crafted over the past few years and mostly during lockdown. Not being able to travel meant that Brad and his collaborator, Nashville producer / songwriter Brandon Hood (Niko Moon, Rascal Flatts, Sam Hunt), had to work a little differently over the internet from their respective spaces in Central Queensland and Nashville.
Acres provides a myriad of emotional and sonic range; the anthemic ‘What Brought You Back’, the straight up guitar rock track ‘Single Life’, the nostalgic ‘Last Time Last’, the Country pop earworm ‘Old Skoolin’’, a song for the girls ‘Now She Ain’t’ and of course, the poignant title track ‘Acres’.
Brad and the band are bringing these songs to the live stage this June – hitting the road on his biggest headline tour yet. It kicks off in Adelaide on June 1 and will make stops in cities across Australia including Perth, Kings Beach, Kingscliff, Brisbane, Geelong, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, and Thirroul. Tickets are on sale now via www.iambradcox.com.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
