Fast-rising singer-songwriter Benjamin Steer today announces the release of his sophomore EP Figuring It Out — a compelling portrait of a young artist coming into his own while making sense of love, purpose, and self-direction in a world that often demands clarity before it’s been found.
“The EP is a hopeless romantic’s dream and downfall,” Benjamin shares.
“I wanted to capture the helpless unknowns of being in your 20s and trying to figure out what makes you happy while balancing the pressures and expectations of life… hopefully something people can relate to.”
Across its five tracks, Figuring It Out delivers a deeply personal yet universally resonant listen. From the wide-eyed infatuation of “Oh Darling” to the existential ache of “Sweat Off Our History” and the gutting clarity of “No One Wants To Die Alone,” Benjamin treads the line between emotional honesty and poetic grace with the aptitude of a songwriter far beyond his years.

Born in Washington D.C. and later relocating to Scotland to study Economics at St Andrews, Steer first began writing songs to process the long, hardy British winters. One of those early tracks, the melancholic “Muted Colours,” would go on to secure him a record deal after label heads discovered it online. That pivotal moment set the stage for a new path, taking him from dorm-room demos to some of the UK and Europe’s most respected stages.
Since then, Steer’s live career has flourished. He has supported artists including Kingfishr, Calum Bowie, Texas, Arthur Hill, Kerr Mercer, and Myles Smith—who personally invited him on tour after hearing his music. 2024 sees him playing landmark UK venues and European halls, including appearances at Sound of Nashville and Reeperbahn Festival. In July, Steer sold out his debut headline show at London’s The Grace weeks in advance, a milestone celebration of his career to date.

Having amassed over 14 million streams, with breakout singles such as “No One Wants To Die Alone,” “Muted Colours,” and “Sinner,” Benjamin continues to attract a loyal and growing fanbase. His music has earned widespread editorial support across Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and SoundCloud, while his social media presence has surged — boasting over 3.8 million views across Instagram and TikTok in the past year, and more than 6 million views on content using his original songs. With a fanbase of over 25,000 across platforms, Steer’s rise reflects the connection audiences are finding in his honest vulnerability, relatability, and cinematic take on the messiness of modern relationships.
What sets Benjamin Steer apart is his rare combination of artistic clarity and emotional openness. That authenticity not only defines his songwriting but also underscores his career-defining decision to pivot from a near move to New York for a high-flying job, to choosing music in London after a record deal landed in the same week. A gamble at the time, but one that Figuring It Out proves was anything but.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
