As rare as the chance sighting of an Otway Panther.
A once a year happening. A spectre shared by a lucky few.
By The Meadow returns to Bambra, for Number 6.
29 – 31 March 2019.

The Otways. Our home among the gum trees. Your home away from home.
Home to mobs, parades, flocks, paddles and wisdoms. It’s all wildlife.

On that note… We have something to share: The Goon Sax, Collarbones and Thando will join the local menagerie in 2019.

Now that… is wild life.

(Quick question – why is there no collective noun for a group of koalas?)

Let’s dissect that, shall we?

The Goon Sax

.

The cumulative buzz of media worldwide has reached a climactic & harmonious hum surrounding The Goon Sax. We feel blessed to profess; our Park Rangers (see also, Audial Wranglers) have captured this small piece of solar radiation from The Sunshine State to appear at By The Meadow 6. And fittingly, the Brisbane trio will take us into Saturday’s sunset.

“Speak-singing is the enemy of strict choirmasters and the refuge of wannabe frontpersons too nervous to sing for real. ‘Sprechgesang’; the German word coined in the 1900s to describe this expressionist vocal technique.” – Pitchforks review of the band’s latest record, ‘We’re Not Talking’, extends to a gushing proclamation; this band has reached a dizzying new level of peak-charming within their blasé prose.

Emotional depth + conversational delivery.
A magic formula. To be seen. To be believed.

Collarbones

.

Collarbones. Where have you been? Two and a half years without a word.
We were almost starting to worry until this happened. Thank the Lord of all things dance-centric, our favourite purveyors of future-pop have returned. Pulsing, percussive, powerful. Pop. Pull-up to get-down. Late, late Saturday night.

Thando

.

Deep, smooth and sleek.
Soulful. Our souls, filled. Full to-the-brim with vocular warmth.
Thando will hold the audience tight as we journey into night. The Friday night.
Wrapped and enraptured by her tone, timbre and texture. Succumbing to her sensuous brand of hip hop.
If ‘Numb’ isn’t near the top of your Best Of 2018 list – allow us to help you recalibrate.
Live and in person. Friday night in The Bambra bowl. The Soul Bowl?

Oh, you thought we were still talking about the koalas…

Located just 90-minutes South-West of Melbourne, Bambra sits on the edge of the Otways. A lush gathering of rolling hills that eases you into the rugged national park ahead. An exceptional place to behold. Both strong and welcoming. All, together.

A very limited collection of just 200 tickets are now available from $150.00 +BF until January 9th (unless sold out earlier). All tickets can be purchased at www.bythemeadow.com

Let’s assemble. See you in Autumn.

Warmest, sincerest & kindest regards,
The Locals
