Caitlyn Shadbolt is excited to reveal the carefree, sunny, springtime vibes of new video, ‘Edge Of The Earth’.
Shot on Rainbow Beach and around Caitlyn’s local Gympie area, the video was directed by Sunshine Coast local, Zach Walker from Fabric Films.
Discussing the making of the video, Caitlyn said today, “I’m so happy I got to shoot this film clip in my local area! With COVID, I had to stay in Queensland so it was the perfect opportunity. I worked with Fabric Films for the first time who were amazing and we filmed at the Rainbow Beach Carlo Sand Blow, along with other gorgeous roads in Gympie. I wanted this clip to be free and adventurous and I think we captured just that. It was my first time shooting at sunrise (that was a rude shock haha!) but the views are so worth it. I feel so lucky to have these locations right on my doorstep!”

‘Edge Of The Earth’ is a fresh, uplifting song co-written with Sarah Buckley. Caitlyn explains, “Sarah and I wrote this song after learning that we both love to push the boundaries in life and in music. I feel like this song sums me up well: free spirited, adventurous and… stubborn! I recorded it with Stuart Stuart during lock down and engineered all my vocals and acoustic guitars in my home studio, then sent them to Stuart in Brisbane and we collaborated over the phone.” Download/stream HERE.
Caitlyn’s new album STAGES, set for release on November 6 via ABC Music/UMA, shows a more polished pop country feel to her songwriting and guitar playing.
STAGES highlights Caitlyn’s ever evolving musical career. With 9 out of the 10 songs co-written by Caitlyn, she has worked with other songwriting talent including Sarah Buckley (The Buckleys), Alana Springsteen (US singer/songwriter), and Dylan Nash (Dean Lewis), to name a few. A finalist in the sixth season of The X Factor Australia, Caitlyn Shadbolt went on to secure a recording deal with ABC MUSIC and release her debut album, Songs On My Sleeve (May 2017). Upon release the album hit #1 on the ARIA Country Album chart. First single, ‘My Break-Up Anthem’, held the #1 National Country Airplay Chart for 8 consecutive weeks and became the second most played song on Country Radio (held out of the top spot by Sam Hunt’s monster hit ‘Body Like A Backroad’). Caitlyn was recognised for her achievements by winning the CMC Award for Best New Artist, along with a nomination for Female Artist of the Year.
