The 2021 expert panel, session facilitators, music mentors and sponsors are yet to be announced but they’ll have big shoes to fill given 2020’s line up included the likes of two-time ARIA award-winning producer, engineer Dr Lachlan ‘Magoo’ Goold, Tyler McLoughlan – Director of The Sound PoundQ MusicThe Tivoli, Brisbane based record label Dew Process (home for everyone from Bloc Party to Bernard Fanning, WAAX and Mallrat to Mumford & Sons and London Grammar) and many many more.

This ‘money can’t buy’ experience into the inner-workings of Australia’s music industry is an incredible opportunity for young and emerging artists across Brisbane from ALL music genres – alternative, hip hop, urban, pop, classical, jazz you name it. BEMAC’s Creative Producer of QUBE Effect 2020, Queenie Pelesa of District Studio’s will again be holding the ropes for 2021 and encourages ALL Brisbane based music artists, including soloists, duos and bands to apply.

BEMAC would of course LOVE to see a wide range of application diversity across cultures, genre and gender.

The Fine Print:

Please note *at least one member of the act must live in the Brisbane Local Government Area, and at least 50% of the act must be aged between 12-25 years of age. For more information and eligibility criteria, visit: HERE.

Here’s what a couple of last participants had to say about the program:

I think what is the most valuable about the QUBE program is that it opens doors to underground musicians, creating opportunities for the younger generations to showcase their talents and also get mentoring on how to stay focussed and be creative.  The QUBE effect program made me feel welcome to Australia by accepting my song in my mother tongue, helped me build the confidence of not being ashamed to embrace my culture and showcase my talent with harmony and courage  – Bashir

Being a part of the QUBE Effect in 2020 has been an eye opening experience – it’s helped us to really focus on who we are as a band, and helped to grow both creatively and professionally – MVP
