Raising Ravens is the solo project for heavy duty Sydney based songwriter, guitarist and singer Jess Finlayson (The Mis-Made, Nitocris, Fyreflyes), and her cracking debut single ‘Careful What You Wish For’ is out now. The song has been embraced by rock media including Heavy Magazine, Rebel FM Network, 2SER, 4ZZZ, 2TripleB, 3MDR, Southern FM & TLC FM.
“The song is a cynical take on the greed of world leaders during the covid pandemic, written during lockdown”, said Finlayson.

“Finlayson has been a massive presence on the Australian hard rock circuit for a number of years and now, with Raising Ravens, has found her niche once more. Dirty old school rock that instantly takes you back to your angst-ridden youth” – HEAVY MAG
Raising Ravens has some live shows coming up around Sydney and recently played ‘White Knuckle Fever’ – a sold out show at The Townie in Newtown as part of Great Southern Nights, an ARIA & NSW Government initiative to kick the live scene back into gear on Saturday 7th November.
Tickets for all shows are strictly limited.

(Peter Black album launch)
15 Dec – Vanguard, Newtown

Starting out as the lead guitarist for all female hard rock renegades Nitocris, Jess Finlayson has been touring, writing and recording since the age of 15. More recently being the founding member lead singer/lead guitarist for The Mis-Made who are currently on hiatus, the focus is now on recording a Raising Ravens album involving a variety of Finlayson’s favourite musicians and long standing producer Lachlan Mitchell.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
