“Charley’s fiercely unwavering passion for her refined, commanding pop project is a breath of fresh air”
– GRETTA RAY / SIDE-NOTE
“a blast of pure pop joy” – WOMEN IN POP
Charley, the Australian pop chanteuse with six million combined streams and a slew of singles under her rhinestone belt, is gearing up to release her highly-anticipated debut EP, TIMEBOMBS on June 23 – pre order here now. Charley has also announced her TIMEBOMBS EP tour with shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane this July. To find out more about dates and ticketing information, please click here.
The Sydney-based singer songwriter collaborated with writers in LA, Nashville, and Sweden to pen an EP’s worth of pop anthems, but she also fell in love twice. Once with the title track’s muse, and then again with a caffeinated herbal tea in a can. “I went through some big new life experiences—I realised I was bi—and I just had so much stuff to let out. And I was extremely motivated. I love travelling and I felt like going to a new country just switched me on. That and drinking Yerba Mate”, says Charley.
Throughout TIMEBOMBS, we listen on as Charley jumps in, out, and then back in to love with the same confidence and naivety she exhibits in her real-life relationships. Crack the glossy sheen of her high energy pop and you’ll find a deeper vulnerability and sensitivity lurking below the below the surface as she invites listeners into her world. On the EP’s criminally-catchy, 80s driven lead single, ‘Worst Taste in Girls’, Charley laments the pattern she’s come to recognise in her love life as she sings, “I feel it coming when they smile / I know it’s only just a while / Til they’re scared / Then they’re not there / I’ve got the worst taste in girls.”
At its core, TIMEBOMBS is a collection of contemporary pop anthems about good old-fashioned heartbreak. Synth-soaked and power-polished, Charley croons and swoons her way through six sparkle-sad songs about everything from her bad taste in girls, to bidding goodbye to a heartbreaker masquerading as a man. “It was gonna be so hot / ‘Til your walls dropped / In the end you’re just dirt under glitter”, Charley reflects in second single ‘Heartbreaker’, an infectious pop banger written in Nashville with Jonathan Capeci and Rajiv Dhall.

For TIMEBOMBS, Charley widened her sound scope to explore “a lot more 80s stuff”, as well as crediting the angsty anthems of Paramore and the new sound of Charlie Puth—“I think when I heard that sound going around, I thought, I wanna mess with that too.” For EP closer, the country-inspired ‘Stupid Thing to Say’, we owe Maron Morris and Noah Cyrus our thanks.
Charley’s travelled to Nashville, Sweden and Los Angeles to collaborate with international writers, made her live debut supporting artists such as CXLOE, MAY-A and Rebecca Black, performed at events including Isol-Aid Festival, and had her debut single – ‘Hard For Me’ – attract attention on streaming, radio and online, including coveted support from Spotify, Apple Music, Side Note, NME, Pilerats, Life Without Andy and more. Most recently Charley has been announced as a finalist in the 2022 Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition.
And although her debut EP is a six-song journey through a broken heart, Charley hopes her new music inspires some optimism in her listeners, too. That under the dirt under the glitter, there’s a blank canvas—a chance to start again. “I know this EP is really heartbreak focused, but I still want there to be a glimpse of hope that at some point, everything’s gonna work out. Fall in love when you wanna fall in love, be heartbroken and go through all this because I feel like everything happens for a reason.”
Charley’s heart on the sleeve approach to fearless song writing proves that the future of Australian pop is in strong, talented hands.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
