Charlie Collins shares today the official video for her new single ‘Fuck It’. The video release arrives days before Charlie hits the stage for her sold out live show at Lazybones Lounge, Marrickville on Tuesday May 4th.
Filmed in Sydney, the official video is directed by Madeline Purdy (Flowerkid, Gordi). Written about a difficult break-up which becomes public, the ‘Fuck It’ video sees Charlie in a space devoid of personality, pulling back dust covers and discovering artifacts of a life she once had. Charlie’s fluid movement throughout reflects her feelings of anger, hurt and the love behind the song.
Director Madeline explains, “Making a video for a song with such raw emotional content was an intimidating brief. But Charlie is a very open and honest person, which made it possible for us to make something authentic together. The only traumatic part of the whole video process was cleaning up tiny feathers and shards of glass at the end of the day.”
The blistering guitar driven song was produced by Scott Horscroft with Joji Malani (Gang Of Youths) at The Grove and pairs Charlies visceral, magnetic songwriting with her assured alt-pop sensibility.
Since its release, ‘Fuck It’ has been added to triple j, double j and FBi Radio, as well as earned praise from local tastemakers MusicFeeds, NME Australia, Blunt Magazine, Tone Deaf and The Music. The single was also added to Spotify playlists – New Music Friday, Indie Arrivals, Broad Chords, The Local List and Apple Playlist, New In Indie.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
