Melbourne-raised, New York-based producer, songwriter and artist, Nick Murphy unveils the latest single from his Chet Faker project; ‘Feel Good’ taken from the forthcoming album, Hotel Surrender, out July 16 via Detail Records/BMG.
Released alongside the single is a stunning music video, an unbroken single shot with Murphy rollerblading in the golden Californian desert sunset. Produced by globally acclaimed production company FREENJOY (Previous works include The Weeknd, Ariana Grande/Doja Cat, Travis Scott et al), the video unearths Murphy’s relatively unknown passion for rollerblading, a hobby that nearly derailed the entire production on the first take. Murphy explains: “I broke my hand filming this last week and I don’t regret one bit of it.”
“Feel Good” appears on Hotel Surrender, a 10-track LP written, recorded and produced by Murphy and mixed by Dave Fridmann that reintroduces the swaggering bass lines and electrifying melodies that made fans fall in love with Chet Faker across the world.
Murphy finished the majority of songs in March 2020, he then saw the record’s completion process take on an even deeper new meaning as he sought to find happiness in the throes of the global pandemic. Today’s single joins previous album predecessors, ‘Low’, ‘Get High’, ‘Whatever Tomorrow’ and it’s recent Soulwax remix.
Murphy goes into further detail about ‘Feel Good’; “The song is called ‘Feel Good’. The song is about feeling good. The video is me feeling good. Anymore talking is just gonna kill the vibe.”

Over the past several weeks, Chet Faker has re-emerged on premier festival bills around the world, including Austin City Limits 2021 and Primavera Sound 2022. Further appearances will be announced soon.
Signing to BMG last year, Melbourne-raised, New-York based Murphy shared ‘Low’ as the first Chet Faker release since 2015. The soothing track led to a sophomore live appearance on NBC’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and a #70 triple j Hottest 100 spot, reaffirming an artistry and vision that is both vulnerable and emotionally connecting. Murphy’s follow-up singles, ‘Get High’ and ‘Whatever Tomorrow’ further contributed to the artist project, which now sits at over a billion combined streams. To date, both singles have racked up over 18 million streams on Spotify alone, landed hundreds of placements on prominent playlists across Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music, and drawn widespread attention from around the globe including the likes of Rolling Stone, Hypebeast, NME, Uproxx, Consequence of Sound and more.
Ahead of his highly anticipated sophomore record, Hotel Surrender, sit back and enjoy the ride as ‘Feel Good’ continues the warm-hearted and melodious revival of Nick Murphy’s acclaimed Chet Faker project.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
