For the last two years singer-songwriter Chloe Styler has delighted listeners with her catchy pop bops; sprinklings from her new release. Today, the 2020 Toyota Starmaker Grand Finalist has unveiled her long awaited EP, Side A.
Side A is an immaculate package of heartbreak songs, delivered with sass and confidence to the soundtrack of luscious synths and acoustic guitars. It serves as a deeply personal snapshot of some of Chloe’s most formative years. “These songs played such a special role in my growth as a human navigating life in my early twenties and the only way I could do them justice was to wrap them up nice and pretty in an EP for you,” comments the Gold Coast based artist.
It’s actually only part one (as the name might suggest) of a larger project Chloe has been toiling away on for a number of years. “Side A is the first instalment of a two-part project that’s been three years in the making.”
Many of the tracks from Side A have already met listeners’ ears. “It’s jam packed with songs you know, some you don’t and acoustic versions of the ones you love most,” affirms Chloe.
In addition to receiving prime placement on several Apple Music editorial playlists – including Lil Bit Country, Country Risers, Southern Craft to name a few – Chloe’s inventive pop sounds have also been strongly embraced by fans and media. “Chloe knows what she wants. Love the confidence, both musically and lyrically!” – Ash McGregor, Triple J Unearthed.
Her signature sound is the result of a fervent live band session at The Grove Studios on the Central Coast, driven by producer Andy Mak (The McClymonts, Vera Blue).
The EPs first 5 tracks feature a carefully sculpted sound – indulgent, yet restrained; classic, yet innovative. Its opener, ‘Consider Me Gone’, “is a gorgeously haunting pop classic with a driving, insistent undercurrent, and a vaulting and celestial chorus.” – Arun Kendall, Backseat Mafia.

While the third cab off the rank, ‘Girlfriend’ kicks down the door with sass and uplifting hooks. “Girlfriend pops out from the second you press play, filled with bubble-gum pop vibes that sparkle with a bright essence that fits the signature sound from Styler.” – Chris Lamaro, AAA Backstage. The 2 tracks that close off Side A are acoustic renditions of Styler’s most loved singles.
Chloe’s EP was partially funded by the City of Gold Coast and Arts Queensland through the Regional Arts Development Fund. The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and the City of Gold Coast Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland. “I am so thankful to the City of Gold Coast and Arts Queensland for their support on this project – without them it wouldn’t have been possible.”
To celebrate her new release Chloe is bringing the songs to life at The Junk Bar in Brisbane on November 25. “All songs on the EP were written in my childhood rumpus room with a pen, paper and acoustic guitar in hand,” recalls Chloe. “So, to show you the songs in their true form I’m stripping the live show back and putting on an acoustic EP Launch.” The night will be opened by Hannah May before Chloe takes the stage.
Side A is a unique and bold introduction to this rising star. Chloe’s honest storytelling combined with the spick-and-span production of Andy Mak makes for a compelling and memorable body of work.

BIOGRAPHY
There’s an old adage that it’s the singer not the song. That’s not strictly correct. It’s all about the singer and the song. Without those two components, you have nothing. No amount of production, studio trickery and sheen can compensate for the lack of those two essential ingredients.
Chloe Styler has both of these things – in spades. She can sing like an emotional, empowered angel, and has songs that she owns, lyrics of observation, heart and soul that she delivers with an intensity and commitment that make you believe she experienced the events and then wrote about them five minutes before she walked into the studio. And Chloe has production – a glorious, sometimes luscious, other times simple and adorning sound that embellishes and adds to the songs and singing, rather than swamp and over burden them.
So, what does the 25-year-old Gold Coast singer and songwriter sound like? You can hear echoes of contemporary artists such as Maggie Rogers, Jade Bird, Gretta Ray and Vera Blue in there. They’re just echoes mind you. Chloe sounds very much like only one artist – Chloe Styler. Elsewhere, astute listeners might spot the sprinkle dust of the sounds of artists that Chloe also admires – Fleetwood Mac, Jewel and Kacey Musgraves.
What connects these three seemingly disparate artists? Songs and singing. Mix the old and new influences and what emerges is an astonishingly talented contemporary artist who sounds both young and fresh (as she is) and a seasoned professional (she’s a bit of that too!). The biggest journey for an artist is finding their true voice, and that’s something Chloe has found over the past few years. Along the way, she’s been compared to Lisa Mitchell, The Corrs and Julia Stone. They’re nice comparisons for an artist that, as we mentioned earlier, really only sounds like Chloe Styler.
Chloe Styler is a voice for our times. Hers is strong, powerful, and committed. Chloe is seemingly destined to be at the forefront of young, focused, and powerful Australian artists. And in the end, it all comes down to those two key components – songs and singing. Welcome to the songs and singing of Chloe Styler.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
