Chris Lanzon returns with his long-awaited debut album, You’re Missing The Best Part, a record that marks a profound creative and emotional milestone for the Sydney-based artist. Known for his evocative songwriting and cinematic soundscapes, Lanzon unveils his most personal and grounded work to date, an album that embraces imperfection, vulnerability, and the simple beauty of being human.
At its heart, You’re Missing The Best Part is an exploration of connection. Across eleven tracks that blend indie folk warmth with pop sensibility, Chris reflects on friendship, love, fear, and the search for meaning in a world that often feels detached from it. The songs were born out of honest conversations and live, collaborative sessions with close friends, capturing both the playfulness and raw emotion of shared creative space.
“I wanted to write with total honesty”, Chris says. “To say exactly what I mean, even if it’s messy or uncomfortable. In doing this, I realised the more personal I got, the more space there was for connection”.
The focus track, ‘Dinner Party’, embodies the emotional core of the album. Gentle yet radiant, it’s a love letter to the community, to the quiet joy of cooking a meal for the people you love, sitting around a table, laughing, and feeling understood. Written in collaboration with Lara Louise, Jerome Blazé, and Oliver Beard, the track captures the spirit of friendship that threads through the entire record. Musically, it draws from indie folk and pop, pairing warm acoustic textures with an uplifting melodic spirit that mirrors its themes of togetherness and belonging.

“This is the best part”, Chris explains. “Being with the people you love. Cooking a meal for them. Spending time together with no aim or job, just to be with each other and enjoy the moment”.
Visually, “Dinner Party” translates that sense of intimacy into something tactile. The clip opens from Chris’s perspective as he approaches a dining table, a first-person drift into the circle of people who helped shape and stress-test the record. His bandmates and confidants, the ones who heard these songs before they had edges. Shot live and left intentionally unvarnished, the video rejects the myth of the immaculate music-video performance. Instead, it leans into the imperfections and energy of live performance. A real moment that reflects the way the record was intentionally made.
As with the other live videos orbiting this album cycle, “Dinner Party” serves as a quiet thesis statement: Chris isn’t polishing himself for the camera; he’s stepping forward with both feet, embracing the mess, and moving – finally, unmistakably – into the best part.
With You’re Missing The Best Part, Chris Lanzon invites listeners into a space of truth and tenderness. It’s a record that resists polish and perfection, instead embracing the human moments that make life meaningful, laughter, honesty, and togetherness. It’s a reminder that the best part of life is happening right in front of us.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
