These exciting local artists – chosen from hundreds of entries from WA-based acts – are Adrian Dzvuke and King Ibis, who will respectively open for the band on Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Perth’s Optus Stadium.

In addition to playing at Optus Stadium Adrian Dzvuke and King Ibis will each be provided with grant funding through the WA Government’s Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ Contemporary Music Fund. This funding will support them with promotional activities which could include recording, marketing initiatives, touring or attendance at industry events. The WA Government Contemporary Music Fund supports local musicians to capitalise on opportunities for the contemporary music sector and helps develop local, national and international audiences for WA bands.

Adrian Dzvuke (pronounced Zu-Kay) has been hailed as one of Australia’s hottest new voices, The Perth-based artist is equally at home onstage with his band or in the studio, his soulful mixture of R&B, Pop & Afrobeats has been gaining fans at every show and with every release. Born in Zimbabwe, Adrian moved to Australia aged 12 where he began his music career singing and playing drums in church. Fast forward some years and Adrian’s recent run of singles and debut EP ‘Phone Me When You Lonely’ have seen him featured by triple j, MTV, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon & VEVO.  For more on Adrian Dzvuke see here.

Perth-based indie-rock band King Ibis make music that feels distinctively Western Australian, while also being unlike anything you’ve heard before. Their sun-bleached, stripped-down rhythms combine with soaring vocals and a cheeky sense of humour to create irresistibly catchy songs. King Ibis fuse the potent, personal lyrics of lead singer/songwriter Nadene Burchell to the slick instrumental work of guitarist Matthew Oakley, bassist Samantha Goddard and drummer John McAndrew, crafting earworms that deliver deeply personal stories in a stylish pop package that’s fun, heartfelt and a little bit quirky. For further on King Ibis, see here.
