Based in regional New South Wales’ creative and cultural hub of The Northern Rivers, Guitarist/ Singer-Songwriter Joe Conroy is offering new music for the first time in 8 years under the moniker Chronroy.
His 2014 soul-inspired urban folk EP Feel Alright was received positively, with a successful east-coast tour and airplay on Triple J and ABC radio. However, shortly after the release Joe was knocked off his bicycle on a busy inner-city Melbourne road and run over by a concrete truck. Enduring serious injuries, he was lucky to survive the accident and faced a long road to recovery.

Fortunately, during this period he was able to complete an Ad Dip of Music (Vocals) and a Bachelor of Music (Guitar) as well as travel extensively throughout South America and Eastern Europe absorbing the music and the stories. Turkish-folk psych outfit Altin Gün and Peru’s Los Destellos influenced the sound of this new single.
Working with Lennox Head producer and fellow guitar-rock aficionado Mike Watson (WHARVES, Frankie, Zam) has given Heartbeat something uniquely Byronesque. The two have created a catchy hook-driven song that touches on having a new found lust for life after reemerging from the wilderness.
The film clip features the tripped-out work of visual design artist Marty Baker. This will also premiere on the 23rd of September.
Expect to hear more from Chronroy with band shows in the Northern Rivers and regional centres, with further releases to be announced in the coming months.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
