Sydney powerhouse twins Cosmo’s Midnight share the remix package for recent single “C.U.D.I (Can U Dig It)”, featuring cuts from Friendly Fires and KISSTRAXX. The pair of remixes arrive ahead of the duo’s huge national tour kicking off this week.
UK indie rock favourites Friendly Fires take the original summery track to the dance floor with a fast-paced cut, maintaining the upbeat grooves while a deep shimmying bass gives nods to a darker signature. KISSTRAXX take an alternate turn, championing the track’s funky guitar riff with snappy tropical-leaning synths and a percussion beat to keep the movement strong. “C.U.D.I” is yet another infectiously catchy tune we’ve come to expect from Cosmo’s Midnight and their unique fusions of electronic, pop & funk, and has already amassing over 1 million streams Australia-wide alongside a global count of 2 million.
This week Cosmo’s Midnight will be heading around the country on a headline tour, supported across all shows by Melbourne-born, LA based electronic pop artist Banoffee alongside Perth’s own producer/rapper, Arno Faraji. The team will kick things off at Brisbane’s 256 Wickham on Friday, May 3 and Fremantle’s Metropolis on Saturday, May 4, before a trifecta of shows the following week at Melbourne’s The Forum on Thursday, May 9, HQ Complex in Adelaide on Friday, May 10 and Hobart’s Odeon Theatre on Saturday, May 11. The following Wednesday, May 15 they will round up the tour with a hometown show at Sydney’s iconic Enmore Theatre.
Cosmo’s Midnight returned with “C.U.D.I” earlier this year after a complete tour with St Jerome’s Laneway Festival that followed a huge 2018. Their debut, triple j Feature Album, What Comes Next featured a stack of guest talent, including Buddy, Jay Prince, Winston Surfshirt, Tove Styrke and more. The pair debuted an all-new live show to multiple sold-out venues across the country, as well as Asia, UK & Europe, whilst their much adored singles “Walk With Me” and “History” received Gold status. The duo have also recently debuted on Like A Version with a killer rendition of Moloko’s “Sing It Back” that has already seen over 300,000 views.
Australia won’t have to wait much longer to catch the dynamite pair live in concert, but for now enjoy the dance-worthy remixes of their infectious 2019 single “C.U.D.I”.
