Today Courtney Barnett shares the video for ‘Charity’, taken from her recently released album Tell Me How You Really Feel. The video, by respected cinematographer Ashley Connor (Beach House, Jenny Lewis, MGMT) was shot on glorious 16mm film and captures fly-on-the-wall footage of Barnett and her band spending a day in Toronto, Canada. The beautiful honest depiction of a day on the road is interspersed with a roaring live performance of one of the catchiest offerings from the new LP.
Barnett and her band will continue their two-night stay at the Sydney Opera House this weekend before finishing their Australian tour with a massive home-coming show next Saturday at Melbourne’s Festival Hall. The band recently completed multiple tours of the USA and Europe which included sold-out shows in iconic venues like Brooklyn’s Prospect Park and London’s Roundhouse, as well as career-defining sets at London’s All Points East Festival (with Nick Cave, St. Vincent and Patti Smith), Chicago’s Pitchfork Festival and Newport Folk Festival.
Barnett’s new album Tell Me How You Really Feel has lived up to impossibly high expectations, debuting at #2 on the Australian Charts, hitting the UK’s Official Charts Top 10, topping multiple US charts and drawing an endless stream of superlatives from critics around the world.
