Loved and lauded Sydney indie-rock three-piece Creo return to the airwaves with their new single ‘Demon to Love’, available October 9th via AWAL and Creo.

An ode to loving yourself, owning your individuality and writing your own story. Frontman, Jorjee Haman explains, “Demon to Love’ was written off the back of my daily struggle with today’s all too common comparison culture. Towards the end of last year, I found myself constantly focusing what those around me were doing, and comparing myself to them. It’s almost unavoidable these days with social media – so I deleted all of it, focused on my wins, and it’s made me a much happier person. The song is a celebration of loving all of you, not just the parts that you want people to see. Life is hard enough; why make it harder?”

‘Demon to Love’ is the second single from Creo’s forthcoming EP (early 2021) following on from ‘Juliet’ (May 2020), which scored them Channel V’s DISCO[V]ER artist of the week, Video Of The Week on Tone Deaf and The Music as well as a tonne of support from national media stalwarts triple j / triple j unearthed, Pilerats, Forte, MTV Upload, not to mention international blogs and radio stations, Amazing Radio (UK), W HSN (USA), WXRY (USA), KROQ (USA), Analogue Trash (UK) and Indie Obsessive (USA).

With a conscious effort to dial back the layers and highlight a more direct sound, 2020 has seen the band develop their brand of indie-rock without losing sight of their roots, ‘Demon To Love’ is further example of this. “There is a real sense of directness to these new songs. We worked tirelessly with our producer Nathan (Nathan Sheehy) up to all hours of many nights to make sure the music had clarity, and every part and layer had a purpose. Previously we’d throw a lot at the song for the sake of being creative and sometimes it was a little distracting. This time we listened to what the songs needed musically and rid the barriers we set on ourselves – if the song needed a synth, we didn’t try to replicate it with a guitar – we just used a synth,” says Haman.

‘Demon To Love’ is available October 9th, 2020 via AWAL & Creo.
