Acclaimed Australian electronic outfit Crooked Colours today return with the new single ‘I Can’t Forget You’. A heavyweight in the dance scene both locally and internationally, Crooked Colours have crafted a distinctive soundscape with over a decade of multifaceted experience, through ARIA #1 Dance albums and multiple national and international tours. Becoming synonymous with dance music that is both emotionally vulnerable and uplifting, the new single sees Crooked Colours stay true to this beloved sound, whilst boldly shape-shifting towards the future.
A contemplative exploration of love lost, ‘I Can’t Forget You’ perfectly encapsulates the times where we can’t help but indulge in the past despite how it makes us feel in the present. Torn between moments of love and despair, distance and closeness, lead singer and producer Philip Slabber’s magnetic and sultry vocals carry the listener alongside the rolling golden basslines Crooked Colours have become known for. Gaining momentum at the drop, the synthesised keys ascend with the ultimate sense of hope and sweet release as Crooked Colours step through to the dawn of a new era.
Once a trio, now solely led by lead singer Philip Slabber, he shares that this is “the first light of a new dawn for Crooked Colours, ‘I Can’t Forget You’ I co-wrote with Julian Hamilton from The Presets and it represents the first step on a new path for the project. I hope you enjoy it, and listen out for plenty more to come.”
Crooked Colours have steadily risen to one of the world’s most consistent and energetic Australian exports. Fueled by tracks such as 2017’s breakthrough smash ‘Flow’, and later with singles ‘Do It Like You, and ‘Hold On’, Crooked Colours has quickly racked up over 260M streams worldwide. They have earned a dedicated following and have become cornerstones of the Australian dance scene, as is reflected by their consistent support from the likes of triple j and streaming platforms, with previous album ‘Tomorrows’ earning the coveted slot of triple j Feature Album. As a trio, their energetic and unstoppable live sets have seen them sell out countless headline shows, and tour across Australia and multiple continents. Crooked Colours is cemented as a highlight of some of the best local and international festivals including Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Beyond The Valley, Groovin The Moo, and multi-day US attraction Bonnaroo Music Festival. Now entering the next phase, their electric energy will be ever-present through Philip Slabber as Crooked Colours takes the stage on his upcoming Australian tour in April with stops at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory, Howler Melbourne, and Valley Loft Brisbane.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
