Praise for Dande and the Lion:
“There’s something really hypnotic about this track from Sydney’s Dande and The Lion. Dreamy vocals with harmonies for days, this is the heartstring piece of pop music we need right now. They had a busy back end of 2018, playing a bunch of shows up and down the East Coast, clearly in hot demand.” – Life Without Andy
“Can’t suppress the fun energy and vigour of this band with this track. [“Twilight Highway’s”] indie-disco aesthetic throws it back to some long forgotten faves like New Young Pony Club, The Long Blondes, etc.” – Dave Ruby Howe (triple j)
“I love the drama and life [“Stardust”] is filled with. I look forward to hearing more.” – Declan Byrne (triple j)
“Awash with beautiful harmonies and dreamy melodies…” – Music Feeds

Sydney’s indie-pop pioneers Dande And The Lion have returned to reveal their latest single “Higher Places,” the first release since their 2019 EP “Twilight Highway.” On the rebound from a year of interruption, the four piece are commanding their own space with this new electrifying, high energy, indie rock track.
“I wrote the intro riff and the rough skeleton to “Higher Places” a few years ago while I was in the UK, and then I left it in my little book of notes. Some time after that, I ended up in Sydney, and Dande and The Lion formed. I remember writing the rest of this song one morning while I was having a cuppa, staring at the ocean. The entire song flowed straight to the page in one go, which is a rare occurrence. I knew at that moment that the music I’d written years prior would be a perfect fit for this story.
I wanted to take the listener on a journey with me to feel the excitement, love, joy, and pain of opening your heart to another human, and connecting with them at a deeper level. I took “Higher Places” to the band, and we worked out all the details. Vocally, I wanted Abbey to start the song and I would come in after the first chorus, creating a narrative between two people’s different perspectives on the same experience.
Our producer and engineer, Lachlan Mitchell, had a big influence on me, and has been on this song’s journey with us over the past couple of years. We have him to thank for bringing “Higher Places” to life the way I had envisaged it,” said Natassa of Dande And The Lion.
“Twilight Highway,” the last body of work from the indie-pop band, put their powerful vocal harmonies and catchy rhythms on display with three songwriters, along with the recording and production by Lachlan Mitchell. The “Twilight Highway” EP channeled into the electric energy that is Dande and the Lion’s trademark.
“Higher Places” is available on all platforms now.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
