Renowned worldwide for their live performances DAVE MATTHEWS BAND has announced two long-awaited headline shows for their loyal Aussie fans, their first performances here in six years.

Recently honoured as a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2020 nominee, Dave Matthews Band (DMB) is returning to Australia for a third headline appearance at Byron Bay Bluesfest and will play the two very special sideshows during their April 2020 visit.

The band will take to the stage at First State Super Theatre (previously ICC Sydney Theatre), Sydney, on April 15 and at Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne on April 17.

Tickets for both shows go on sale at 1pm Friday, October 25.

DMB’s infectious, distinctive sound and die-hard fan base has cemented the group as one of the most successful touring acts of the past three decades, garnering career ticket sales of more than 24 million and ranking them as the biggest ticket seller worldwide during the past decade.

My Live Nation members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sale beginning 3pm Wednesday, October 23.

With each ticket purchase, fans may also access a download of DMB’s current album and US #1, Come Together.  Head HERE for details.

Formed in Charlottesville, Virginia DMB has released nine studio albums and numerous live recordings to date during their 28-year career, selling a collective 38 million CDs and DVDs since the 1994 major label debut, Under the Table and Dreaming. The Grammy-winning band’s many hits include “What Would You Say,” “Crash Into Me,” “Too Much,” “Everyday,” “American Baby,” “Funny The Way It Is,” “Mercy” and “Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin).”

With the band’s most recent album release, 2018’s Come Tomorrow, Dave Matthews Band became the first group in history to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In a Critic’s Pick review, The New York Times observed, “willed optimism fills the songs on Come Tomorrow, while cynicism and irony are nowhere within earshot… each song notes the fears and sorrows it’s determined to overcome. The music does that, with consolation in its melodies and a life force in its rhythms.”

Speaking of the band’s nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2020 Dave Matthews said their recent nomination for the Hall’s 2020 class was unexpected and a “little bit insane”, but that he felt honoured.

“I can’t believe I’m on a list with Whitney Houston, Motorhead and T Rex. That’s pretty awesome.”

The group’s Bama Works Fund, established in 1999, has raised more than $52 million dollars for humanitarian and environmental initiatives.
