Today (February 3), seminal New York hip-hop outfit De La Soul announce the feel-good song “Eye Know” featuring Otis Redding off their groundbreaking debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising, is now available on all streaming platforms.
Recognised as one of the best hip-hop ballads of its era, “Eye Know” pushes the Daisy Age philosophy with Otis Redding’s famous whistling, DJ scratches, guitars, trumpets and lyrical poetry written by Posdnuos, Trugoy the Dove, Maseo and produced by Prince Paul. Alongside the single’s release, De La Soul has also shared a high definition version of the original video, which can be seen here, and will debut a brand new lyric video on February 8.
In addition to the release of “Eye Know,” fans can now pre-order “Me Myself & I” on cassingle and 7” vinyl, as well as De La Soul Is Dead on vinyl, CD, and cassette exclusively on wearedelasoul.com. The band’s website store also features several new and exclusive merch items.
Across the band’s website and digital retailers, fans can now also pre-order digital album downloads for all six albums: 3 Feet High and Rising, De La Soul Is Dead, Buhloone Mindstate, Stakes Is High, Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump and AOI: Bionix. The full catalogue will be released on all streaming services on March 3, 2023. De La Soul Is Dead Vinyl and CD hits retailers on April 7, with the remaining albums to follow shortly.

About De La Soul
De La Soul is a New York based trio whose members Posdnuos, Trugoy and Maseo created the hip hop masterpiece 3 Feet High and Rising, initially released on March 3, 1989. The group is best known for their eclectic and innovative sampling, quirky lyrics and their contributions to the evolution of jazz rap and alternative hip-hop subgenres. The band won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Collaboration for their song “Feel Good Inc.” with The Gorillaz in 2005. In 2015, De La Soul raised over $600,000 on Kickstarter from fans to independently release their album And the Anonymous Nobody…, which was their first #1 on the Rap Albums chart and was also nominated for a Best Rap Album Grammy.
