You know the drill…the UKs finest purveyors of dance-floor dynamite Disclosure are back with five brand new tracks over five consecutive days to kick some energy into 2021. Once again, they prove that no one does it better than these two brothers who harness their natural creative synergy faultlessly.

In My Arms is the euphoric opener for the week that demands your attention. A wiggly, sultry beat steadily builds to a full blown hands in the air moment as the chords and vocals reach crescendo. It possesses that now distinctive and ever-evolving Lawrence brother sound but sounds as fresh as when they released ‘Offline Dexterity’ over a decade ago. “The lyrics of this one came from the feeling of the chords. They felt celebratory and longing at the same time somehow.” explains Howard who gratefully had the opportunity to write harmonies from scratch for the amazing gospel choir that features on this single (+ ‘Never Enough’) – a first for him and a bucket-list tick to match.

Other tracks to come this week are ‘Seduction’, ‘Another Level’, ‘Happening’ and the massive title track for the full set – ‘Never Enough’ – before all five tracks will be available as one on Friday, 20th August.

On the release of this new music, Guy explains: “The spark that ignited the creation of this body of work came from a place of wanting to revitalise a very fractured & uncertain dance music scene & club culture that has changed so much all over the world for obvious reasons in the last 18 months. While piecing together initial ideas during the spring of 2021, hope began to glimmer on the horizon for producers & DJ’s that we may soon be able to gather together again, dancing & listening to music as one, participating in something larger than ourselves. So we asked each other… what would we want to hear in those moments? What does that first moment back in a club sound like? What does walking into Shangri-la, Glasto at 2am feel like again? What does a headline show at Reading look like after all the difficulties 2020 brought on our whole industry? With all these questions unanswered & with the possibility that any of these events may actually be allowed to take place, we set to work on creating something that might fit one of those magical moments some of us have been longing to participate in again.”

In their mission they invited some key collaborators along for the ride – namely trusted friends such as Lxury (‘Never Enough’, ‘Happening’ & ‘‘In My Arms’), Reuben James & Conor Albert who laid down the talkbox and bass guitar for what became ‘Seduction’, and dance music heavyweight & all round legend, James Ford skilfully laid down his insane modular machines on ‘Another Level’. “We have been huge admirers of his of years, so it feels great to finally have something out there we created together.” says Guy.

The first collection of songs they surprised fans with (similarly rolling out 5 tracks in 5 days) was the ‘Moonlight’ EP in 2018, followed by the ‘Ecstasy’ EP in Feb 2020. They were then poised to play some hot and sweaty club shows that March which they took the decision to cancel due to you know what. Still, they forged ahead with releasing their 3rd studio album ENERGY which received two GRAMMY nominations – Best Dance/Electronic album and Best Dance Recording for ‘My High’ featuring Aminé and slowthai. That meant they’ve had 7 Grammy nominations across 7 years – including a 3 out of 3 hit rate for their albums Settle, Caracal and ENERGY.

ENERGY has yet to be played in any live setting but should all go to plan – that is about to change as Guy and Howard ready themselves to once again bring the party to their headline slot at the UK’s Reading & Leeds Festival at the end of August as well as top the bill in the fields of Manchester for Parklife in September.

Guy adds: “As much as we hope you all enjoy this release, the music on this project feels almost inevitable somehow? It just didn’t exist & then it did! Perhaps you’ll know what we mean if you’ve ever tried songwriting (or creating anything for that matter) but that’s really how it feels. So if you have brains or ears like ours, maybe you’ll get something from these songs. Hopefully they can make you move. We just hope we can present them to you in the best way we know how soon… together, in a big rowdy, sweaty riot!”
