Lana Del Rey‘s “Love”

Once again, the LA-based duo enlist Empress Of to lend her sultry vocals to the dance-floor-ready rework. The release follows on from their recent single “Why Don’t You Come On” featuring Grammy-nominated artist Khalid & Empress Of, which received unanimous worldwide acclaim (with Australia being it’s 2nd largest streaming territory) & nods from Zane LoweTriple JPitchfork & LNWY.

Enlisting Empress Of once more, DJDS turn Del Rey’s ballad into something decidedly more dance-floor without sacrificing the emotional depth of the original.

DJDS shares that “the idea to do this cover came recently when we were spending some time in the studio with Empress Of helping her out with her new music. The three of us really love Lana’s work and share a special appreciation for the song ‘Love.’ There’s a story about LA in there that pulled us all in. We just wanted to try our own version, put our sound in it and pay tribute to a piece of work that really inspired us this year.”

Love” follows on from the duo’s most recent offering “Why Don’t You Come On“, exploding onto the airwaves earlier this year. The track received unanimous worldwide support, peaking at #2 on the US Spotify Viral Charts, #5 globally and #7 in Australia – all within the first week of release. The track is currently sitting on 11 million combined streams.

DJDS (formally known as DJ Dodger Stadium) have a long-standing history of being fully-formed creatives; marrying music, visual art and fashion both in their own careers and through their label Body High. This process has led to collaborations with Kanye West and Khalid in addition to pioneers like Charlie WilsonCali Thornhill DewittThe-Dream and Opening Ceremony. While their comprehensive artistic vision has made them collaborators of some of the most celebrated contemporary creatives, it wasn’t until they encamped with Kanye West to work on The Life Of Pablo that they gleaned the skills required to create a statement like “Trees On Fire” and “Why Don’t You Come On “.

Now with three of the year’s biggest tracks in their repertoire, DJDS are just about unstoppable – we can’t wait to see what’s next for this prolific duo.
