Today, electronic pop vocalist, songwriter and producer Djanaba shares her highly anticipated debut album Did I Stutter?, out now via etcetc music. LISTEN HERE.
Beyond Djanaba’s fierce flow and crystalline soundscapes lies a depth of introspection. She traverses the experiences that have brought her to her position as a boundary-breaker, redefining what it means to be a pop artist on her own terms as a proud Queer Bundjalung woman. Through capturing the restorative power of harnessing your inner confidence to get you through the hard times, Djanaba has materialised a creative feat that surpassed even her own expectations.
“‘Did I Stutter?’ stands far above what I ever thought I could create,” she shares. “This album could honestly be my own personal how-to guide on figuring shit out in your early twenties. Don’t stop. Don’t question. Don’t change — just grow. While I’ve been figuring it all out, it hasn’t been easy, and it definitely hasn’t been cheap (shoutout to my therapist) — but it has been worth every second. I’m still figuring it out, but FUCK, do I feel lighter.”
Opening with the vibrant ‘Times Like SIS’, each track on the album is as immediate and infectious as the last, grounded in the precision and care Djanaba consistently dedicates to her craft. Whether evoking uninhibited dancefloor euphoria on ‘fuckitup’, taking a moment to reflect on how far she’s come on ‘Way We Move’, or penning an anthem for the “baddie gurrllsss” with ‘Asikee’, it’s clear that Did I Stutter? Is Djanaba at her most inspired, poised to illuminate festival stages, club nights, and hearts alike.
Djanaba reflects on the creation of the album’s soaring focus single, ‘Doin To Me’, produced by PNAU. At just 19, she had just begun exploring electronic music and working in the studio with Nick Littlemore, describing it as a pivotal and freeing experience. Initially uncertain about her songwriting abilities, she found a sense of liberation in the process – singing, experimenting and creating without judgment. “It’s really quite unserious and not over complicated”, she explains, “but this song is more than just that, it was the first moment l genuinely felt like l had made something beautiful, and it gave me the confidence to keep creating.”
With over a million streams to her name, Djanaba continues to break barriers and turn heads with her knockout catalogue of singles – including the breakout collaboration with PNAU ‘Big Titties’, ‘Stutter? Ft. Somber Hills’, ‘Broke Back Bitch’, ‘Times Like SIS’, ‘Don’t Really Care’, ‘F.U.’ and ‘Way We Move’. Known for her electrifying live energy, she’s also lit up some of Australia’s biggest stages, including Listen Out, Beyond The Valley, Lost Paradise, Wildlands, Spilt Milk, Summer Camp, MELT Festival (supporting Kah-Lo) and Sydney Festival.
On Tuesday July 8, Djanaba will be performing as part of Garrima: The Country Cries for Truth live at the State Library of NSW – a special night showcasing Bundjalung talent across all art forms to kick off NAIDOC Week 2025. For more information, see BELOW.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
