Following the huge announcements last week for DOPE LEMON which revealed a new album, ‘Rose Pink Cadillac’, on the way and a Cadillac car giveaway, today he unveils new single and video ‘Stingray Pete.’
The Clint Eastwood Winchester shootout, ‘Stingray Pete’ is the biggest sonic left-turn on the upcoming album ‘Rose Pink Cadillac’, a slow-building, desert dust-soaked track that gleams with the neon’s and metallics of a Sergio Leone old silver bullet of a film. It provides an air that this is a truly remarkable beginning to what is in store for the songwriting and storytelling on the third DOPE LEMON album.
Says Angus Stone of the track “The new song is an epic! Stingray Pete is a Clint Eastwood shoot out of a western from Dope Lemon.
It’s a tale of Stingray Pete. He’s the local dusty legend that seems to find himself on yet another epic adventure into the night when he hits the town. It’s a song we wrote about the wild vastness that lies beyond the unknown of the night for old Stingray Pete.”
He continues about the video which was shot in the sugarcane fields for burn season “It was epic to be the one to light the whole field with the strike of a single match, which is the actual shot in the video. This was probably one of my most favourite shoots to date. Great crew. Great people. And an epic new single to lead into what will be a really amazing release for Dope Lemon this year”.
