Today, Melbourne pop punk band Drastic Park independently release their brand new EP Compound Fracture.
Produced and mixed by Alan Day (Four Year Strong, Knuckle Puck, Seaway), engineered by Declan White (Deadlights, Thornhill, Belle Haven) and mastered by Jay Maas (Defeater, State Champs, Citizen), Compound Fracture is a collection of songs which highlights the growth of Drastic Park’s song writing abilities. Catchy melodies, choruses and hooks accompanied by the odd heavy breakdown really see the band forging their own sound, a little from the past with a touch of the new.
Today, the band drop a video for Brightside, the stand out single off the new EP.

Singer John Stokes on Brightside – “Brightside is about being brought up to follow in someone’s else’s footsteps – moulding yourself to their view of what they feel is healthy or right for you in life, but deciding somewhere along the way (after feeling lost trying to follow along) that you prefer to find your own way and enjoy your own highs. It can also relate to people in toxic relationships where the person you are with makes your life miserable, by wanting you to be who they want you to be. The big chorus is about breaking away from those shackles.”
This a highly impressive release by Drastic Park, which is sure to garner the band a whole new legion of fans.

About DRASTIC PARK
Drastic Park are a 4-piece pop punk / punk rock band from Melbourne Australia. Referred to by Josh Merriel (Short.Fast.Loud) as a “very exciting young punk band” who can “write a damn catchy pop punk song”, Drastic Park have built a fanbase that love them for their distinct throw-back sound, as well as their comedic antics on stage and on social media.
Since they started in 2019, they have released 15 songs (4 singles and 2 EPs) and played a plethora of sold out shows, supporting the likes of 28 Days, DREGG, Antiskeptic, Ocean Sleeper and Agnes Manners. They have gone on multiple tours, including a triple headline tour with Clay J Gladstone and Wolf & Chain and their most recent tour across Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane in support of their single, “Deadline”.
After the band signed with Destroy All Lines for all bookings, they secured a slot at the inaugural Knight and Day festival, supported Real Friends at their Melbourne sideshow and then went on to land the main support for Millencolin at the Melbourne and Brisbane Good Things Sideshows.
In the past few months they have been working with producer Alan Day of Four Year Strong and introduced their 4th member, Elise, on guitar and backing vocals – all in order to inject heavier tones to their music and evolve their musicality.
2023 is shaping up to be a big year for Drastic Park!
Drastic Park are:
John Stokes – Lead Vocals / Guitar
Chris Tannahill – Vocals / Bass

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
