In one of the most exciting ARIA announcements of the year so far, international superstar Dua Lipa is confirmed to be returning to Sydney to perform at the 2019 ARIA Awards at Sydney’s The Star Event Centre on Wednesday, 27th November 2019, broadcast on the Nine Network, live streamed internationally on YouTube, and hosted by Guy Sebastian.
Dan Rosen, ARIA Chief Executive says, “I am thrilled to have Dua Lipa join us for the ARIA Awards this November. She is a global superstar who has dominated the charts around the world and here in Australia. I cannot wait to see her take the ARIA stage.”
Dua Lipa has established herself as one of the leading artists of the current time with the release of her eponymous debut album. The London-born singer has sold over 4 million copies of her self-titled debut album as well as over 40 million singles globally, and cruised past some of the world’s biggest pop stars to be crowned the most-streamed female artist in the UK in her breakthrough year of 2017.
Dua Lipa’s self-titled debut album is certified ARIA platinum, with each release as hugely successful as the last, and include the UK number-one single “New Rules”, hits “Hotter Than Hell”, “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)”, and “Scared To Be Lonely” (with Martin Garrix), and “One Kiss” (with Calvin Harris), as well as two more UK and ARIA Top 10 singles, “Be the One” and “IDGAF”. Her best-selling single “New Rules” has been the biggest hit worldwide, charting at number 2 in Australia, number 6 in the US, and number 7 in Canada, and achieving nearly 1.9 billion views on YouTube. She also made YouTube history with “New Rules” as the youngest female artist to hit one billion views on a music video.

She has been honoured with two Grammys, for Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording. Lipa has also received nominations in five categories at the Brit Awards and was the only artist to be nominated in five categories that year, as well as the first female artist ever to achieve this feat. She won the awards in the British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act categories, and also performed at the awards ceremony at the O2 Arena in London.
Dua Lipa’s new single “Don’t Start Now” is out tomorrow, Friday November 1st, and the music video will also be premiering via YouTube at midnight AEDT tomorrow.
