The release of a new Dune Rats album needs to be celebrated. Sure, the hard work and sweat over its creation needs to be acknowledged but releasing a new body of songs out into the world and into the hands and ears of fans is a big deal that calls for a big party. Luckily, Dunies know how to throw a party. Dune Rats are stoked to announce the ‘Real Rare Whale’ Album Launch Parties Tour!
With their 4th studio album ‘Real Rare Whale’ hitting shelves on Friday 29th July, Dune Rats will undertake a string of special and intimate shows at a combination of out-of-the-box venues including a Melbourne warehouse, a Brisbane bowlo, an Adelaide arts factory and their very own pub in Sydney. Dunies will play the new album start to finish and ice the cake with a few of the hits from albums past.
The shows will also be the re-launch of the much loved Young Henry’s Dunies Lager, which will be pouring at all shows across the country. Dunies will also be taking their Volley shoe collab on the road with shoe + gear prizes and giveaways!

On the announcement of the shows the band said: “So very psyched for this album launch tour! We wanted to do something special for these shows in each city that’s outside of the box and more intimate from the shows we would usually play. We’re keen to play the new album from start to finish in celebration plus a bunch of favourites from over the years. See yas there!”
The 10 tracks on ‘Real Rare Whale’ sees Dunies at their punkiest, punniest, funniest best. Featuring the singles ‘What A Memorable Night’, the triple j Hottest 100 fav ‘UP’ and current “Dunies love song” ‘Melted Into Two’. “Real Rare Whale is hands down the fastest, funnest and most insane album we’ve ever recorded,” the Dunies said on recording the album. “It’s an album that expresses the love of music and writing songs. Songs that will be epic to play live to thousands of sweaty bodies having a great time.” ‘Real Rare Whale’ follows on from their consecutive #1 ARIA albums, 2020’s ‘Hurry Up And Wait’ and 2017’s ‘The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit’. Recorded with acclaimed producer Scott Horscroft, the band relocated to Eden on the south coast of New South Wales for 3 months at the height of the pandemic and set out to write an album that was opposite to the negativity going on in the world. The result is an album full of fun and melodic rock n’ roll.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
