DUNE RATS
drop two singles,
announce
OLD MATES
album and 2026
Australian Tour
.

Brisbane punk rock lifers Dune Rats return with two explosive singles, new track, SHARKS and a re-recorded version of FUCK IT! from their third EP Smile, a release that looks back to where it all began while charging forward with the same reckless conviction that has defined the band for over a decade. SHARKS leads the way, capturing the raw belief and stubborn optimism that has always sat at the heart of Dune Rats’ music and story, while the newly re-recorded FUCK IT! offers longtime fans a nostalgic trip through the band’s formative punk-garage sound.
At its core, SHARKS is a song about swimming against the current and trusting your gut even when everyone around you thinks you are crazy. It reflects the reality of choosing a creative path that makes no logical sense to anyone else, particularly when you are young, broke, and convinced that a band can be your future. That sense of defiance and belief is what has carried Dune Rats from sweaty Brisbane house shows to sold out rooms around the world, and Sharks feels like a full circle moment that reconnects the band with the mindset that started it all.
Sharks stands out as a reminder that sometimes the only way forward is to ignore the noise and keep paddling, even when the odds are stacked and the water feels rough. It is a snapshot of the band before the accolades, before the charts, and before the industry expectations, capturing the freedom of backing yourself purely because it feels right.
.

“Sharks is about going against the current of the norm, and following what you wanna do even though you’re at the time it seems crazy to achieve it. When you’re in a band, a lot of friends and family think you’re mental to believe it’ll be your career,” the band share.
Longtime torchbearers of Brisbane’s do it yourself punk lineage, Dune Rats are Danny Beus, BC Michaels, and Brett Jansch, a trio known for their raucous live shows, carefree attitude, and anthemic punk songs built for maximum chaos and connection. Since forming in Brisbane, the band have become one of Australia’s most enduring and beloved punk acts, flying the flag for loud guitars, good times, and community first energy.
Their breakthrough came with The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit, which debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart, launching now iconic tracks Bullshit and Scott Green and marking the first of their back to back number one ARIA albums. The band have since earned multiple ARIA Award nominations, including an ARIA nomination for Best Hard Rock Album for Real Rare Whale, while becoming a defining staple of triple j, with multiple Hottest 100 entries and a widely regarded classic Like A Version cover of The Angels’ Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again.
.

Renowned for their explosive live energy, Dune Rats have sold out headline tours across Australia and built a formidable international following through extensive touring across the USA, Europe, the UK, and South Africa, while dominating major festival stages at Splendour In The Grass, Laneway, Falls Festival, and Groovin The Moo. Their recent collaboration with Tooheys New on a nationwide regional pub tour earned an ARIA nomination for Best Use of an Australian Recording in an Advertisement, further cementing their cultural impact beyond music alone.
Continuing to evolve on their own terms, the band released If It Sucks Turn It Up in 2024 and founded their own label Ratbag Records under BMG, supporting and releasing music from Australian acts including Skegss and The Gooch Palms, while remaining known for their chaotic and communal Dunies and Friends live shows.
Looking ahead, 2026 launches at full throttle, with Dune Rats joining YUNGBLUD as main support on his Australian tour before returning to their roots with the OLD MATES Tour, a run of intimate underplay shows through the pubs and coastal rooms that shaped the band. The tour coincides with the release of OLD MATES, an album collecting tracks from the band’s first three EPs alongside the new single SHARKS, celebrating where it all began while proving they are still moving forward.
With over 15 years together, hundreds of shows worldwide, and a career built on backing themselves over expectations, SHARKS stands as both a reflection and a rallying cry. Dune Rats are still swimming against the tide, louder and more confident than ever.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
