UK house producer Eden Prince re-imagines Siedah Garrett’s 1985 classic ‘Do You Want It Right Now’, giving it a fresh dance edge while paying homage to the original. The 2021 edit highlights Siedah Garrett’s distinct and powerful vocals, while Eden Prince reworks the bassline and adds the energetic house flair he is best known for.

Eden Prince explains his focus for the remix, “’Do You Want It Right Now’ is such a classic and I was honoured to have the opportunity to add my touch to it. My aim was to bring a new energy to the original and present Siedah’s fantastic vocal from a fresh new angle. The result is a feel good house track that I can’t wait to play out as soon as clubs re-open!”

Siedah adds “The single ‘Do You Want It Right Now’ has always held a special place for me. It was the very first song that I recorded for Quincy Jones after he signed me as an artist to his record label. My dance music fans have kept the Jellybean remix alive for years, and now, I couldn’t be happier that Tinted Records is breathing new life into it with this incredible Eden Prince collaboration. When I finally get back to performing live in the clubs, it’s gonna be hard to choose which remix version I use for my backing track! Maybe a mash-up?”

Eden Prince has become known and appreciated for his contemporary take on house music, recently gaining traction with his standout debut EP ‘Memories’, which was heavily supported by MistaJam, Annie Mac, Diplo, Scott Mills and Katie Thistleton. With numerous remixes under his belt and an abundance of original releases, Eden Prince has clocked up a mammoth 200 million streams. Now he continues to impress fans with his own version of Siedah Garrett’s ‘Do You Want It Right Now’.

Discovered by the remarkable music icon Quincy Jones, Siedah Garrett went on to become a hugely successful GRAMMY winning and two-time OSCAR nominated singer, song-writer. Breaking out in 1984 with her hit single ‘Don’t Look Any Further’, a duet with ex-Temptations Motown artist Dennis Edwards, she quickly followed up the single with her iconic anthem ‘Do You Want It Right Now’ in 1985. The hit record which went on to be sampled by various artists include dance legend, Armand Van Helden for his 2007 smash hit ‘I Want Your Soul’. Recognized for her soulful vocals, Siedah has worked with a plethora of revolutionary musicians such as Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, Earth Wind and Fire, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson, will.i.am and many others. The US talent has toured around the globe as featured vocalist with some of the most prolific artists the world has ever seen, including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Sergio Mendes, The Brand New Heavies, and Wang Chung. As the co-creator of Michael Jackson’s mega-hit ‘Man in the Mirror’, and having recorded as duet partner on his chart-topping BAD album lead single ‘I Just Can’t Stop Loving You’, Siedah became famous as a young singer/songwriter bursting with creativity and compassion. Siedah Garrett has truly carved out an imprint in the history of music.
