Ella Fence new single “Love Me On Purpose”, released today, is a slab of beat laden electro firepower. A baroque dance groove with a narrative. A song with deep volumes of differing musical layers and moods, an offering that’s young and vibrant with lyrical evidence of darker fingerprints. The second single from her debut album, it’s an empowered track about not being played around with.
“The lyrics “love me in the daytime” are my favourite line from the track – because fleeting and flakey “love” (in my experience) tends to be fuelled by the evening – when there’s alcohol and the vibrancy of the night. Something about wanting to be a part of someone’s day life feels different to me than only wanting to be part of their night life.” – Ella Fence

“Love Me On Purpose” has a magpies eye for the shiny and cool, as well as serious intellectual muscle. Ella’s voice is sophisticated, her lyrical imagery in a realm of its own. All the while the listener is bedazzled with electro/pop back beat, this beat a cohesive driving force creating a tune that’s a white knuckle ride of party, adventure and excess.
Most recently Ella Fence has been nominated at this years Australian Women In Music Awards 2019 in the category of Best Emerging Artist. Ella’s deep focus is touring nationally and she recently performed sell out solo shows in Brisbane and The Gold Coast. As well Ella hijacked a Big Sound Showcase with a mind blowing performance at Greaser Bar in Fortitude Valley. Ella’s first single “Don’t Feed The Monster” was recorded and produced at Blind Boy Studios with Brad Hosking. Brad is renowned for his work with internationally acclaimed Amy Shark. The new song “Love Me On Purpose” has been captured in the studio with Electro Master Steve Thornely.
