About Emerauld

Emerauld is an up and coming indie rock / pop artist from Adelaide, South Australia. Emerauld’s sound is heavily influenced by the likes of Chloe Moriondo and Girl In Red.

“Keeping friendships was hard for me, let alone the bullying that came with it. I felt I had no one to talk to, that’s when music came in, writing songs really helped me release my feelings including the stress that came along with it. I did it as a coping mechanism at first but now it has evolved into so much more.”

Emerauld is currently in High School with a music scholarship while studying Cert-3 Music Performance at Music SA. Emerauld is taking everything she learns and applying it to her current skill set. This year Emerauld plans on releasing multiple singles that compile into an EP.

About ‘Odd Socks’

‘Odd Socks sounds like a broken relationship but it has more underlying things than that. I’ve never really been in a serious relationship so this song reflects that and the feeling of being an outcast in a society that seems too together.

While writing this song I was thinking of all the different times I had felt outside of everyone’s social bubble. I always wear Odd Socks because none of them are ever in pairs so that was the main “metaphor” for the song, using being an odd sock as one of the examples of being different.’
