‘What has made Nat Vazer so compelling as an artist in recent years, is the way her music can weave through moments of vibrancy and subtlety without losing any of the artist’s unique presence on record.’ – Sose Fuamoli, Double J

Deeply seated in her landscape of confessional indie rock and detail rich songwriting, Nat Vazer releases ‘Rumours’, her next single out Thursday 3 August via Gyrosteam, and opening from her upcoming album Strange Adrenaline. Slated for release Friday 6 October, on the newly formed Bendigo Records, a limited edition ‘Northern Lights Marbled’ Vinyl is now available for pre-order from all indie record stores nationally including Rocksteady Records, Bendigo Vinyl, as well as JB Hi-fi, Bandcamp and Nat Vazer’s Spotify.
Strange Adrenaline, Vazer’s second full length album is a kaleidoscope of ‘unique stories told through the people, places and memories that have shaken me and stayed with me over time’ says Vazer. Following her debut at SXSW and NYC’s New Colossus Festival earlier this year and headline tours on the East Coast of the US, she is gearing up for the release with her Bigsound 2023 debut this September.
With 2023 singles premiered on Triple J, LA’s KCRW, Under The Radar, Earmilk, and Pilerats, plus Spotify editorial playlist adds on Fresh Finds AU & NZ, Local Noise, Live Nation’s Ones To Watch, Nat Vazer also received radio rotation support from FBi, Double J and PBS FM.
Departing from her signature sound, Vazer’s latest offering ‘Rumours’ is set in the dark and seedy backstreets of Hollywood – like something out of David Lynch’s ‘Mullholland Drive’ or Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon A Time in Hollywood’. The song paints a surrealist dreamscape of recurring trauma through Vazer’s threads of guitar and abstract yet poignant lyrics, her reverb drenched vocals echo as if memories are battling space with the real world. “Rumours’ paints a picture of recurring trauma. It’s like a creature born in childhood innocence but keeps re-manifesting throughout your life in different ways.” – Nat Vazer

Through her vehicle of folk storytelling, Nat Vazer drives through carefully fashioned sonic landscapes, new realms written on piano, and her viscerally brilliant combination of dream pop and indie rock “Strange Adrenaline’ is like a fast car on a lost highway – forever hungry, forever searching,” states Vazer about her upcoming LP. Featuring previously released singles ‘Born’, ‘2am Diner’, ‘Strange Adrenaline’, ‘Addicted To Misery’ – a track triple j’s Ash McGregor described “could destroy my soul and rebuild it at the same time”, and current single and album opener ‘Rumours’, Strange Adrenaline is layered with unassuming arrangements and lyrical introspection, building the different worlds anchored to each song “writing this album was like looking inward to find the child inside again, and reaching outward for something beyond me.” – Nat Vazer.
Capturing the hearts of audiences around Australia and the world, Vazer has supported Vacations, Last Dinosaurs, The Magic Numbers, Jaguar Jonze, #1 Dads, toured with Lime Cordiale and Kingswood and has joined the festival lineups of Kyneton Music Festival, St Kilda Festival, Summersalt and more, and a packed few months of live shows earlier in the year including her debut US shows at SXSW, New Colossus Festival (New York City), and WFNM in Los Angeles. Vazer’s 2020 debut album ‘Is This Offensive And Loud?’ went on to be nominated for The Australian Music Prize and was listed in several best-album-of-the-year lists including NME Australia and The Musician, alongside a nomination for Best Breakthrough Artist at the Music Victoria Awards.
Enter this new creative dimension of Nat Vazer’s musical worlds as she questions both the theoretical and existential’, – “Passing through a field of stars, ever wonder what you are” – Nat Vazer.

‘Rumours’
Lyrics
Saw her name on a Hollywood billboard
She’s the girl with a thousand faces
Up the stairs – up to her apartment
Hold her down, tell her you like it
Something that you said
Will probably hurt me till I’m dead
There’s a movie that’s never-ending and you’re in it
Wish I knew you then
But I was only just a kid
The rumours turned you into someone else
Davey is a friend who lent me his apartment
We’d watch the sun die on the horizon
Too many sides to his psyche
He said ‘no one can really know me’
Something that he did
Will probably haunt me till I’m dead
There’s a movie that’s never ending and we’re in it
Wish I knew you then
But I don’t owe you anything
The rumours turned you into someone else
Fires in the church
Push my shovel in the dirt
Now I can’t hear you anymore
Fires in the church
Push my shovel in the dirt
Now I can’t hear you anymore
Fires in the church
Push my shovel in the dirt
Again, again, again.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
