One of the premiere bands in Australia right now, Sydney’s formidable Gang of Youths (pictured above) continue to go from strength to strength. Their latest album ‘Go Farther in Lightness’ is filled to the brim with slow-burning builds and explosive climaxes, and David Le’aupepe’s emotional sincerity and killer voice has us ready to feel all the feels come December.
An all-star triple j Unearthed cast will also hit Berry, including Stella Donnelly, who’s brutally honest lyrics and jazz-folk sensibilities scored her a spot as an Unearthed feature artist. Plus Didirri, who’s gentle disposition and threadbare six-string melodies made him one of the great discoveries of BIGSOUND 2017.
Post-disco synth wizard Donny Benét will grace the stage after dark, armed with his latest groove-inducing single ‘Konichiwa’. Adam Gibson and the Ark-Ark Birds will return for their third consecutive year, bringing their unique blend of Australiana-inspired song, spoken word and music.
Fairgrounds Festival will also mark the return of all the magic it has become famed for – from entertainment for kids and families, to the hoard of field games for all-ages and its on-site swimming pool to make a splash in.
