Ahead of tomorrow’s release of his fourth studio album God’s Favorite Customer via Sub Pop | ADA, Father John Misty has today delivered the official video for Please Don’t Die. The new visual was helmed by returning director Chris Hopewell (Things it Would Have Been Helpful to Know Before the Revolution) and was constructed and filmed at Jacknife Studios in Bristol, UK.
God’s Favorite Customer features the aforementioned Please Don’t Die, alongside first single Mr. Tillman along with new highlights Disappointing Diamonds Are the Rarest of Them All and Just Dumb Enough to Try. Produced by Tillman and recorded with Jonathan Rado, Dave Cerminara and Trevor Spencer, God’s Favourite Customer was written largely in New York between the summer of 2016 and winter of 2017 and is the follow up to his third critically acclaimed LP, Pure Comedy.
A live phenomenon, in the past year, the enigmatic and singular artist has performed two headline tours in Australia, in additions to sets at Splendour in the Grass, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Coachella and Glastonbury to name a few. To celebrate the release of God’s Favorite Customer, Father John Misty will undertake a headline tour spanning six months across North America, the UK and Europe including sets at Primavera, All Points East, We Love Green, Best Kept Secret, Panorama and more. For the next six months, Father John Misty will tour across North America, Europe and the UK in support of God’s Favorite Customer.
