In its twenty years, FBi Radio’s legacy has endured to platform the voices, changemakers and talent making their mark across a series of initiatives: Dance Class, a comprehensive program designed to uncover, train and mentor a new crop of talent in the electronic music industry; Tracks, a knowledge-sharing program that highlights the work taking place in Western Sydney while providing support in accessing the music industry; Music Open Day, a monthly info session for independent artists to gain personalised advice on releasing music; and most notably through the annual FBi SMAC Awards, a celebration that shines a light on the leading local musicians, artists, performers, eateries and events, amongst others.

Speaking to the celebration, Darren Lesaguis, Head of Programming and Music, shares “That FBi Radio is celebrating 20 years is both a marvel and an absolute. That the station has persevered for two decades against all odds, whilst maintaining its independence, is a feat. But of course because where there exists people who love this city, so too will FBi Radio. What better way to celebrate and honour that than with FBi Turns 20. A party nodding to the legacy of the station, and championing the power of its future.”
Integral to Eora / Sydney’s creative fabric, over two decades FBi Radio has had a simple mission to champion and support local talent in all its forms, evolving in step with the industries, collectives and city they represent. While the music and voices in the studio have inevitably changed and developed over time, the principle of giving and receiving from community has strongly persisted over the station’s twenty years. Consistently pushing forward thanks to its army of charged and passionate volunteers, FBi Radio’s revolving door continues to usher a stream of leading innovators, curators, story-tellers, policymakers and changers, that go on to shape the city it serves – one they only hope will further thrive throughout its next twenty years.
Looking forward, FBi Radio will celebrate this milestone birthday on Saturday December 9 at FBi Turns 20. A multi-stage fundraiser featuring a stream of artists that reflect the station’s growth and programming over two decades of operation and into its future. Highlighting not only FBi’s consistent periphery of exciting and experimental programming but also its place as a hub that has nurtured countless industry professionals and arts leaders today. RSVP today with the purchase of earlybird tickets on sale now.

AMNPLIFY – ML
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
