Felix Riebl is set to release his third studio album Everyday Amen out November 25 via AWAL and today he has shared his latest offering ‘Until The Beat Is Gone’, another masterfully elevated track from the Melbourne artist.

The layered androgynous vocals of New Zealand artist Graham Candy sonically evoke a haunting and ethereal-like feel, leading into a soaring chorus that has become synonymous with Felix’s music.
On the new single Felix says, “I was playing around with words and taking letters out, so ‘Friend’ became ‘Fiend’ and ‘Word’ became ‘World’ and so on, and that’s how this song came to life. What is love but the letter L that turns the word into the World felt like a pretty good hook, and one night at the piano I found the chords to match. Sometimes those little exercises bear fruit.”
Felix finds magic in the mundane as Everyday Amen delves into his own personal life with an element of light-heartedness and humour and celebrates moments of contrast. Surrounding himself with a dream team of musicians, along with engineer Andy Baldwin (producer / engineer) and Ross Irwin (co-producer / arranger), the recording process itself was very free flowing and only took two weeks to create.
Previous releases ‘Everyday Amen’, ‘Barcelona Beers’ and ‘Carry Your Scar’ gave fans a taste of what to expect from the forthcoming album, each song detailing the wonder and obscurities of life with joy and exuberance.
The album at its core is a celebration of life. It’s the interplay between insular domesticity and very extrovert overflowing international moments that drives the songs and allows the listener to reflect on their own Everyday Amen moments.
To celebrate the release of Everyday Amen, Felix will perform the album in full at Melbourne Recital Centre on Tuesday November 29 – tickets available here
