Billy Clyro riffs, Deftones distortion, fused with lead singer Adrian Kluke’s unyielding vocals.

Introducing  Melbourne’s newest rock godsFight The Sun.

A wall of sound is the best way to describe the trio’s debut EP. Coming at you full speed with unwavering  distortion, powerhouse vocals, gnarly riffs and flat out dirty aggressive rock ‘n’ roll.  Recorded at Melbourne’s Iconic Homesurgery Recordings under the infallible guidance of  Jon Grace, Samuel K and Shihad’s own Tom Larkin. The process saw the trio systematically carve down twenty five tracks to reach the final four full throttle bangers “The mission was to get 25 songs to something approximating completion even if it was just a bare bones structure and then whittle it down to 4 to 5 songs which we’d go in to record. It may seem excessive when the aim is to record an EP but the reasoning behind it is pretty sound. For one thing it basically gives you plenty of options to choose from but like with a lot things, the more work and practice you put into something the better it usually gets. Case in point would be ‘Goodbye Gravity’ which is a band favourite song up to this stage”- Fight The Sun.

Influences of this generations riff masters Muse, Black Sabbath, Shihad, Led Zepplin, Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age can be heard throughout the EP. Kicking off with no holds barred single ‘Animals’ a track which hits you in the face from the kick drums first thump. Followed by band favorite ‘Goodbye Gravity’ which delves darker and deeper as the track progresses.  ‘The Other Side’ brings distortion to the forefront, mixed with a furious pace all the while highlighting Adrian Kluke’s  insane vocal dexterity.  ‘Unknown’ brings the EP home with dirty guitars and unapologetic lyrics You don’t speak for me.  As a whole the EP not only captures Fight the Sun’s ever evolving song-craft and knack for a driving riff and a bittersweet rock melody but the energy and controlled chaos of their live show.

“The setup is simple, but the output is grand – a powerful sound, with a superb string of riffs and a perfect blending of the melodic and the distorted” – Stereo Stickman
