More on First Beige & Demon Days:
“A bunch of us saw Demon Days perform last year at Bigsound and were blown away, so much energy and it was so effortless.Later on in the year we were both were playing at Jungle Love Festival so we had a chat to them after our set and said hi and instantly bonded over music and stupid memes.”
“A couple of months following that we played in a side project on the Brisbane leg of their tour and they stayed at my house for a night so I took advantage of getting some of their jazz chops in the First Beige demos I had been workin on, they really spiced it up the songs. I’m so glad we have crossed paths along the music journey, many fun adventures to come!” – David (First Beige)
“We got the chance to meet them at Jungle Love Festival last year and we hit it off instantly. I think there is a somewhat unspoken bond between Brisbane and Perth musicians as we are often overlooked and come from similar small city vibes.” – Bella (Demon Days)

Hailing from Brisbane, First Beige draws upon driving disco grooves, sweeping synths and irresistible vocal hooks to craft a full-bodied sonic spectacular guaranteed to get any crowd grooving. An infectious live act taking inspiration from the likes of Flying Lotus, Parcels and Kaytranada; the six-piece have continued to solidify themselves as one of the rawest, most energetic and vibrant live acts to come out of Brisbane in recent years.
Taking form in early 2016, the project began in founding member David Versace’s bedroom as a solo project who took on the role of writing, recording and producing all the music. He then would bring these tracks to bandmates to plot out the arrangements with live instrumentation.
Since the release of their debut EP ‘Press!’ back in November 2017, the band has continued to solidify themselves as one of the most energetic and vibrant live acts out of the local Brisbane scene, and in doing so earned them performances at King Gizzard’s very own Gizzfest at the RNA Showgrounds, a massive slot on Lime Cordiale’s sold out touring festival ‘The Squeeze’, and a residency at Brisbane icon venue The Foundry.
Amidst this hectic live schedule throughout 2018, First Beige were hard at work behind the scenes preparing their next release ‘Vivid/Images’, a split single where one half ‘Vivid’, which had listeners up and moving to wonky synths, flute hooks and driving drum and bass grooves – whist the other half ‘Images’, delved into free jazz soundscapes and experimental production underpinned by pulsating Latin rhythms.
Taking their first steps out of Brisbane in October & November of 2018, First Beige kicked off on a massive 11 shows along the east coast of Australia in support of the release, including performances in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Lennox Head, Hey Sunshine festival in Billinudgel, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, wrapping up at Jungle Love festival on the Sunshine Coast.
Now, following the release of their first single of 2019, ‘Details’, David Versace, Julia Beiers, Oscar Borschmann, Jasper Gundersen, Troy Doolan and Cain Robertson’s new offering ‘Desire’ sees the band step into groovy new territory, indulging their desire to get audiences up on their feet, a mission they continue to tackle with their EP ‘Mirrors’, due out later this year.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
