Today, Brisbane-based band First Beige announce they’re bringing their electric live show around Australia in August and September. Renowned for their unrelenting energy and infectious grooves, the band kick off in Wollongong before playing shows in Sydney, Gold Coast, Melbourne and Adelaide, before an epic homecoming at The Zoo in Brisbane. 

Launching into 2021 with their first release ‘BBL’ being premiered on KCRW in the states, First Beige will release their next installment for 2021 ‘Sudden Weight’ on July 23rd. Featuring guest vocals from powerhouse Allysha Joy, this track offers another triumphant chapter in the bands ever evolving catalogue of infectious tunes. With more music on the horizon and exciting content in the works, First Beige are ready to take on the Australian touring circuit.

Born and based in Brisbane, First Beige draws upon jazzy colours, textural synth layers and interwoven vocal harmonies backed by driving house rhythms. Since their inception in 2016, First Beige has come a long way from the bedroom-recording project of founding member David Versace. The infectious live act presents listeners with an ever-evolving set comprised of extended improvised sections and high energy grooves. The six-piece have continued to solidify themselves as one of the most eclectic, transportive and vibrant live acts to come out of Brisbane in recent years, with a monumental Bigsound set in 2019 and supports alongside Mildlife, Harvey Sutherland, Winston Surfshirt and Last Dinosaurs.

In spite of a global pandemic, First Beige turned 2020 into their most successful year yet, with sold out shows around the state of QLD including a massive show at the beautiful Tivoli Theatre. The band played euphoric slots at Laneway Festival, A Festival Called Panama and Party in the Paddock and caught the attention of Worldwide FM’s Gilles Peterson, giving First Beige multiple spins on his BBC 6 Radio programme. The band also saw their track Sole Reality click over 1 million Spotify streams on top of a nomination for Best Soul/Funk/RnB release at the QLD Music Awards. With a bag of new songs eagerly awaiting release, First Beige won’t sit still in 2021.
