G Flip — Melbourne multi-instrumentalist, Georgia Flipo — is excited to share details of her anticipated debut album, as well as a new single from that album. The ten-track About Us LP is a very human story of heartbreak and reconciliation, of putting on a brave face, attempting to move on and finding your way back together. As announced in an extended Fader profile today, the album is out worldwide on 30 August via Future Classic (pre-order here, tracklist below). G Flip’s woozy new single ‘Stupid’ is another arresting love song about the Sisyphean nature of her relationship. It’s out everywhere now.

About the album, G says: “I thought about releasing an album a lot growing up. I would sit in the lounge room holding dad’s record collection in awe, I was intrigued, I wanted my own. It’s a big moment, I’m super stoked to drop my debut”
“I wrote so many songs about my on-and-off relationship. I hadn’t seen this girl in a year, so when we caught up at the end of 2017, she asked me what I’ve been doing and I told her I had written a heap of songs, and that I was going to try it out as a solo musician now. I showed her all the songs and asked her one important question; “Would you care if I released these because they’re all about us?” Luckily she didn’t mind, otherwise out of respect to her, this music would never have seen the light of day. So it made perfect sense to call my debut album ‘About Us’.”
G Flip is hosting a special album launch event at a secret location in Melbourne on the day of her album release for friends, family and some very lucky fans. The event will feature food, drinks, a few surprises and an intimate performance from G. Fan’s who pre-order the album will have a chance to attend and one lucky winner can win flights + accom and a VIP meet & greet. The past 18 months have proven to be beyond G Flip’s wildest dreams. Since launching ‘About You’ on triple j unearthed in March 2018, she has toured the world multiple times, sold out three headline Australian tours, dominated festival stages including Splendour, Laneway Festival and Groovin The Moo and been streamed over 50 million times. She has proven to be a critical darling, scoring praise from Pitchfork, NPR, The LA Times and The Guardian among others, and a magnetic performer thanks toa boundless energy, flawless voice and a series of singles that sound like classics from the outset.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
